Piping class is limited to the maximum pipe size of DN150 as per AS 4041 Class 3.
AS 4041 Class 3 piping requires a hydrostatic pressure test or where the magnetic particle NDT is increased to 20% then an initial service leak test is permitted.
Hydrostatic test pressure to be based on 1.5x the line design pressure. Refer to the piping isometric or P&ID for the line design pressure. The line design pressure shall not exceed 1000 kPag.
Initial service leak test to be at 1.1x the maximum operating pressure using an inert medium (N2 or other approved). Refer to the piping isometric or P&ID for the maximum operating design pressure.
Refer to the project specific procedure for the gas tightness testing for all consumer piping operating above 200 kPag.
ASME B16.5 flanges are preferred followed by EN 1092-1, however flanges are to be selected based on connected equipment.
EN 1092-1 flanges are not listed in AS 4041; however they are deemed a suitable flange for the design and are listed in the pressure vessel standard AS 1210.
Bolt length and diameters to suit specific flange designs. Refer to ASME B16.5 and EN 1092-1 for details.
Higher rated flanges (eg PN25 and 300#) permitted to suit mating components.

Threads are to be Taper/Taper unless in sizes of DN8-DN25 where Taper/Parallel is permitted. Parallel/Parallel requires leak sealing and approval from the gas fitter / gas inspector including a test demonstration.
Material certificates are not mandatory for AS 4041 Class 3 piping and components. Supply material certificates if practical.
Base of threaded socket (boss) to be profiled to the curvature of the header pipe for a set-on arrangement. Fillet weld throat size to exceed the below table:
