D. SHORT ESSAY. Read and analyze each question. Answer each

item briefly but concisely.
1. Are filibusteros the same as the batang pasaway in the present
generation? Prove your point by citing examples or specific situations.
Answer: Knowing this, we can simply conclude that the word Filibusteros is
such a serious word that can define someone else and can not be the same
as the batang pasaway term that is currently being used in our generation.
Being filibuster during the Spanish period in the Philippines means you went
overseas and plan for revolution. Hard-headed or being pasaway in Filipino,
is doing things even if it is restricted , prohibited or will lead you to danger.
2. Explain why Rizal would never subscribe to the “useless spilling of blood.”
Answer: This statement has something to do with the revolution imitiated
by Andres Bonifacio-the Katipunan who plans to revolt against the Spanish
colonizers. Rizal knows that blood will shed and will turned out to be useless
if they will excute the plan of Bonifacio during that time, because of the
lackness of power and capability to protect themselves in terms of weapons
and arms, they should be prepared and ready enough to confront the bomb,
as of this point in time, Rizal knows they weren't ready.
3. Take a stand: Which is better, Rizal’s diplomatic reform or Bonifacio’s
impulsive revolt? Defend your answer.
Answer: These two great heroes are oftenly being compared to one another,
asking between who's better, and the choice oftenly turn to invalidate the
other. Well, as what I've said the weapon they used reflects their Personality
and way of life, the fact that Rizal was highly educated and was born to a
well-off family will always use his intellectual capability to protect his
country. On the other hand, Bonifacio who was less educated yet love his
country men and his own nation , gather all the men and motivate them to
earn the freedom they deserve , he uses his available resources to execute
the thing the same with what Rizal's aspire for. They are both the key to our
attained freedom, they are both the great and most noble person I've ever
known in my life. They are both best for me.
4. Prove or contradict: What a mother is, so should her son become.
Answer: The attitude of a mother also reflects the attitude of her child. It
just clearly says that anything that a mother does her child can follow it
because what does the child sees, it follows that the child imitates it.
5. What do you think is Rizal’s legacy to women based on his Letter to the
Young Women of Malolos?
Answer: Rizal's letter to the women of Malolos emphasized reason and
supported the education of women so that they may be enlightened,
religiousness required reason, without reason there was only religiosity. He
dedicated it to all types of women-mothers, wives, the unmarried, and so on
- and conveys everything he desires them to bare in mind as they go about
their daily lives.

E. REFLECTION.
1. What is the role of the youth in the development and future of the society?
Answer: Youth is the future of society. The young generation simply needs
to renew, refresh and maintain the current status of society. When the youth
contributes his ideas and energy to resolve social issues, he becomes a
capable leader and can also make a difference in the lives of other.

2. In what other ways can you, as a Filipino youth of today, show your
patriotism to your country? Provide specific examples or situations to explain
your answer.
Answer: As a Filipino youth of today, I will show my patriotism in our
country by being proud in our language. I will use and give importance to it. I
will value our own language more because it is a way for our country to be
united and united. And of course, before I love the language of others like
the current trends that they imitate foreigners, I would rather love our own
language first. Because Rizal said that “He who does not love his own
language is worse than an animal and smelly fish.
