Rated Head Pump
Rated Head Pump
capable of furnishing not less than 150 percent of rated capacity at a head not less than 65 percent
of the rated head explain with example with a 2850 lpm pump with 80 mtr head
The blue line represents the pump performance curve, showing how head (pressure)
decreases as flow rate increases.
o (4275 LPM, 52m) → At 150% of the rated flow, the head drops to at least 52 meters
(which meets the requirement).
Interpretation
If demand increases to 4,275 LPM, the pump will still provide at least 52m of head.
If pressure drops below 52m, the pump may not meet fire protection requirements.
This ensures fire safety compliance by maintaining water pressure even during high-demand
situations.
