Materials:
Cascade Yarns® Llamerino
50% Baby Llama, 50% Merino Wool
100 g (3.5 oz)/ 291 yds (267m)
1 skein of color #05 (Silver)
US 6 (4 mm)/16” circular and DPN Knitting
Needles or size to obtain gauge
Yarn Needle
1 Stitch Marker

Gauge:
24 sts x 29 rows = 4” (10 cm) Blocked, in
Broderie Anglaise Pattern

Abbreviations:
CO = Cast On
K = Knit
K2tog = Knit 2 sts together
P = Purl
KLR = Knit long with a right lean, (see Special Stitches)
KLL = Knit long with a left lean, (see Special Stitches)
Rnd(s) = Round(s)
St(s) = Stitch(es)
K2tog = Knit 2 stitches together
SSK =Slip as if to knit, slip as if to knit, insert left needle into the front of the 2 slipped sts and
K2tog.

Special Stitches:
KLR:
Insert the right needle into the space between the K2tog and SSK, which is 2 rows below the current row.
Knit a st, drawing up a long loop onto the right-hand needle.
KLL:
Insert the right needle into the same space as the KLR. Knit a st, drawing up a long loop onto the
right-hand needle.
Broderie Anglaise Pattern Stitch (Worked over 8 sts and 8 rows in the rnd):
Rnd 1: K all sts.
Rnd 2: K2tog, SSK, K4. (6 sts)

Rnd 3: K all sts.
Rnd 4: KLR, K2, KLL, K4. (8 sts)
Rnd 5; K all sts.
Rnd 6: K4, K2tog, SSK. (6 sts)
Rnd 7: K all sts.
Rnd 8: K4, KLR, K2, KLL. (8 sts)

Begin Pattern:
With 16” circular needles, CO 120 sts using the long tail method. PM. Being careful not to twist sts, join in
the rnd.
Work 10 rnds in a [K2, P2] Rib Pattern.
Begin Broderie Anglaise pattern.
Work until hat measures 9” from CO ending with and odd row.

Crown:
Rnd 1: K2tog to end of rnd. (60 sts).
Rnd 2: K all sts.
Rnd 3: K2tog to end of rnd. (30 sts).
Rnd 4: K all sts.
Rnd 5: K2tog to end of rnd. (15 sts).
Round 6: K all sts.

Finishing:
Break end of yarn leaving a long tail of yarn to weave in.
With a yarn needle, run yarn through the remaining live sts.
Work in any loose ends.
Dampen with cool water and lay flat to dry.
Pull yarn end tight to gather top sts of the hat. Weave in all ends.
