INTRODUCTION
Reliability is the ability of a device to accomplish a required function in a given conditions for one period. So an aircraft, a system or aircraft component is
considered reliable as his behaviour remains in use within the limits provided in its design.
The reliability depends on the conditions of use, adequacy of design and implementation of maintenance program.
The reliability program has two main objectives. First, it provides a summary presentation of the behaviour of the aircraft fleet operated by the company and,
secondly, it provides technical information in a timely serving as inputs to decision support for the improving the safety of operations and optimizing maintenance
costs.
The reliability program can detect trends, identify their origins and to initiate, if necessary, corrective or preventive measures, such as amendment of maintenance
programs or improving practices and procedures. For that reason, Tassili Airlines Company has established a quarterly reliability report, which comprises
reliability analysis and 5 chapters as following sites:
- Chapter 1 contains general statistics of use of the fleet, that is to say, the calculated average monthly flight hours, hours block to block, cycles, number of
aircraft in service, the average duration of flights, the rate of days of exploitations and immobilizations of aircraft and the average daily flying hours per
aircraft. All the changes and evolutions of the above parameters are represented by monthly graphs.
- Chapter 2 contains general statistics of reliability, which is determined and calculated monthly and in general the reliability rate of the fleet, the delays
rate, cancellations rate, the incidents rate due to technical problems, the rate of complaints reported by pilots and technical on the CRM and the remove
rate.
- Chapter 3 contains the detailed statistical reliability, that is to say calculates it by ATA system of the rates of all the parameters listed in chapter 2 and
presented as graphs that determine the monthly evolution for each aircraft system.
- Chapter 4 contains the quarterly rate of any aircraft systems parameters (interruptions rate caused by delay or cancelled due to a technical problem, the
rate of complaints reported by the pilot or the technique and the removals rate). The quarterly rate allows us to have a good precision of calculation, where
can be seen in bar graphs that give us a good comparison rate systems, and from this comparison we determine the highest rate, and also can compare
the quarterly rate of aircraft system with level alert and Target.
- Chapter 5 contains the quarterly rate of unscheduled removals of components from various aircraft systems; it is presented as a bar graph which gives us
a good comparison of the removals rate, and the comparison of the quarterly rate of removals parts and the target. The calculated annual rate of
components removed permits us to have good accuracy of calculation.
