1 Introduction
NTPC Ltd is a premier Maharatna public sector undertaking in the field of power generation. Govt. of
Madhya Pradesh has agreed to give NTPC approximately 500 hectares of revenue land in Mandsaur
district. 250 MW solar power project shall be implemented in a single EPC package under domestic
competitive bidding using domestically manufactured PV modules and cells. This specification is for the
development of a single solar block of 50 MW capacities. The intent of this document is to define complete
electrical technical requirements for design and engineering of Solar PV Power Plant at Mandsaur district,
Madhya Pradesh.
2 Purpose
This document describes the requirements for design and engineering of grid connected 50MW Solar
Photovoltaic power (PV) Plant at Mandsaur district, Madhya Pradesh.
3 Scope
This design basis establishes the requirements and guidelines governing design and engineering of grid
connected 50MW Solar Photovoltaic power (PV) Plant at Mandsaur district, Madhya Pradesh.
All parts of the design in the scope of work will meet the requirements of the applicable sections of the latest
edition of the following Codes and Standards:
The work shall be performed in conformity with the Specifications and Codes of
Practice of national and international standards.

7.7.8 DC System
Notes:-
1. For lighting inside the building 1.5 sq mm copper conductor, pvc insulation wire shall be
used in conduit with proper color coding.
2. All power cables up to 16 sq mm shall be of copper conductor .
3. All control Cables shall be stranded copper conductor only
4. All HV and MV cables shall be aluminum conductor, flat armored and earth type only.

7.12 Synchronization
The synchronization will be done in inverter and it will follow the infinite GRID parameters with help of
internal logic algorithm and therefore will prevent flicker into system.

Each solar PV modules used in solar power plants/systems must be warranted for their output peak watt
capacity, which should not be less than 90% at the end of 10 years and 80% at the end of 25 years from the
completion of the trial run.
