The Turbocharger Turbine Speed is


monitored by the CM700. There are two
speed thresholds:
ƒ A WARNING ALARM is flagged if turbine
speed exceeds 39720 rpm for 60 seconds.
A ‘Controlled Shutdown’ will be initiated
ƒ Engine will SHUTDOWN if turbine speed
exceeds 41500 rpm for 5 seconds.
An ‘E-Stop’ will be initiated

Compressor by pass valve & associated pipe work signal supplied from by-pass
valve back to CM558.

The compressor by pass valve is controlled via the CM558 module and is used to
divert air/fuel mixture back to the mixer intake.
This butterfly valve is fitted on the QSK60 H/E model only and acts much like a waste
gate to match turbo performance to requirement over a wide speed range. Boost is
by-passed (reduced) at higher turbo rpm.
Operates on the mark space ratio (duty cycle) of a 5v square wave signal from
CM558.
