What learning experiences do you think you have gain throughout your life?
Throughout my life, I’ve gained many valuable learning experiences that have profoundly
shaped who I am today. One of the biggest lessons I've learned has been the ultimate importance
of perseverance; I learned that challenges can truly be opportunities for growth. Additionally, I’ve
realized the ultimate value of adaptability, especially during the pandemic when I had to adjust to
online classes and new learning environments. Collaborating with peers virtually taught me
effective communication skills and highlighted the ultimate importance of teamwork, even when
we are physically apart. Each experience, whether positive or negative, has contributed
significantly to my personal and academic growth. Each lesson has helped me build a strong
foundation for my future. Every challenge I faced was an opportunity for personal development.
The skills I gained during these times were invaluable. Ultimately, all these experiences have
molded my character and work ethic. I am grateful for every moment, as they have shaped my
journey thus far.
Name something you learned and did the first time during the pandemic which you
consider as the most life-changing of all.
During the pandemic, I learned to manage my time more effectively, a skill that has proven
invaluable. Initially, remote learning was a struggle; I found it challenging to stay focused and
motivated in a home environment. However, as I adjusted, I developed routines and strategies
that helped me create a productive learning atmosphere. This newfound time management
allowed me to balance my studies while also exploring other interests. One of the most fulfilling
pursuits was discovering my passion for art, particularly painting. Engaging in creative activities
not only provided a much-needed outlet but also sparked my curiosity about potential career
paths. As I experimented with different styles and techniques, I realized how much I enjoyed
expressing myself through art. The experience taught me that, even in difficult times, I could adapt
and thrive. This period of self-discovery and resilience has become one of the most life-changing
experiences of my life. Ultimately, it reinforced the idea that challenges can lead to new
opportunities and growth.
What are your perceptions/perspective to your future career, the world and to other
people?
As I think about my future career, I feel both hopeful and aware of the challenges ahead.
I want a job where I can help make a positive impact on society using my skills and talents. My
view of the world has changed; I now understand how connected global issues are and how
important it is to work together to solve them. I believe that everyone has the ability to make a
difference, no matter how small. In my future work, I want to promote inclusivity and diversity,
making sure all voices are heard. Through my experiences with others, I’ve learned how important
compassion and understanding are since everyone has their own story. This understanding
inspires me to be a supportive person for those around me, helping them grow and become
stronger. I want to create a space where teamwork thrives, and everyone feels valued and
appreciated. Ultimately, I see my future career as a way to bring about positive change for myself
and my community. I hope to inspire others to embrace their potential and work together for a
better world.
What are their misconceptions about you? Provide at least five (5). And how did you face
them each?
I often encounter misconceptions about myself that don't reflect my true nature. One
misconception is that I’m always confident. In reality, I acknowledge my moments of self-
doubt and work through them by seeking support from friends. Another misconception is that I
am too ambitious and competitive. To counter this, I actively demonstrate my collaborative
spirit by encouraging my peers and celebrating their achievements. People also think I don’t
care about others’ opinions. However, I regularly ask for feedback and use it to grow, showing
that I value others’ perspectives. Some believe I have no hobbies outside of work. I make an
effort to share my interests, like painting, to highlight that I lead a well-rounded life. Lastly, there’s
a misconception that I’m uninterested in my peers’ achievements. I combat this by publicly
celebrating my friends’ successes, demonstrating my support and encouragement. Overall, these
responses help clarify who I really am and strengthen my connections with others. Through open
communication, I aim to reshape their perceptions.
I am Alijandra Briss Butao, and I am proud of my journey and achievements, ready to embrace
the future with resilience and a desire to uplift others along the way.
