Couples Satisfaction Index (CSI) - 16-Item Version

Instructions: Please answer the following questions about your relationship. Use the scale provided for each

item to indicate your level of agreement or satisfaction. Higher scores indicate greater satisfaction.

Scale:

1 = Not at all 2 = A little 3 = Somewhat 4 = Mostly 5 = Very much 6 = Completely

1. How rewarding is your relationship?

2. How well does your partner meet your needs?

3. In general, how satisfied are you with your relationship?

4. How often do you feel that your relationship is strong?

5. To what extent has your relationship met your original expectations?

6. How much do you love your partner?

7. To what degree does your relationship make you happy?

8. How often do you feel content in your relationship?

9. How secure do you feel in your relationship?

10. How much do you respect your partner?

11. How well do you and your partner resolve disagreements?

12. How connected do you feel to your partner?

13. How often do you think positively about your partner?

14. How well does your partner understand your needs?

15. How often do you feel supported by your partner?

16. How likely are you to recommend your relationship model to others?

Scoring and Reflection

Scoring Instructions:

1. Add up the scores from all 16 questions.

2. Higher scores indicate greater relationship satisfaction.

3. Compare scores between partners to identify areas for discussion.

4. Use this tool as a conversation starter to improve communication and understanding.
