Student Name: Rayyan Amrou Student ID.: 20209203054

Part I: Objectives

1. Learn about Air Conditioning and its processes.

2. Introduce the psychrometric chart and its use it in Air Conditioning.
3. Calculate the cooling/heating capacities of the cooling/heating coils.

Part II: Raw Data

Air Velocity (m/s) 0.9m/s

1- Find the enthalpy and the absolute humidity at each point.

2- Determine the process name and draw it on the psychometric
chart.
3- Find the specific volume of air at the velocity sensor position

Answer the below questions

1) What is the difference between dry bulb temperature, wet bulb

temperature, dew point temperature?

Dry-bulb temperature (DBT) is the temperature of air measured by a

thermometer freely exposed to the air but shielded from radiation and
.moisture

Wet-bulb temperature (WBT) is the temperature read by a thermometer

covered in water-soaked cloth over which air is passed

Dew point temperature (DPT) is the temperature to which air must be

.cooled to become saturated with water vapor

2) What is the difference between absolute humidity and relative humidity?

Absolute humidity (ω ) describes the water content of air and is expressed in

grams water per kilogram dry air.

Relative humidity (RH) is the ratio of the current absolute humidity to the
highest possible absolute humidity (which depends on the current air
temperature).

3) Mention the various air conditioning processes and illustrate these

processes on the psychometric chart.

4) Explain what the differences are the sensible heating process and heating
and humidification process.
:Sensible heating -1

In this process the temperature of air is increased without changing its moisture content
Humidification -2
The process in which the moisture or water vapor is added to the air without changing its dry bulb
.(DB) temperature is called humidification process
