Lesson Plan in Mathematics 7

Date: ______________
By: Eden O. Tuppiyac

CONTENT Geometry
OBJECTIVES
Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of key concept of
geometry shapes and sizes, and geometric relationships.

Performance Standard The learner is able to create models of plane figures and
formulate and solve accurately authentic problems involving
sides and angles of a polygon.

Learning Competencies -Represents point, line and plane using concrete examples and
pictorial model. M7GE-III-a-1
-Classifies the different kinds of angles. M7GE-IIIa-3

PROCEDURES
1. Simple recall/inspire learners
What are the 3 undefined terms A point has no dimension, no width, no length, and no thickness.
in geometry? It is represented by a dot.
A line consists of infinitely many points extending indefinitely in
opposite directions and is represented by opposite arrows.
A plane is represented by a flat surface that extends infinitely on
all sides. It has infinite length and width but no thickness.

Give real life objects that Real objects that represent a point: a bead, the tip of a sword,
represents appoint, a line, or a button, tip of a pen
plane. Real objects that represent a line: pencil, edge of a paper, railings,
window blinds, clothes line, electric wire
Real objects that represents a planes: surface of a blackboard, a
piece of paper, surface of the floor, top of a table

What other subjects you also use

points, lines and planes?
In your English/Filipino subject: A period after a sentence
How about in your social studies A point on the map indicate a capital, line indicates boundaries
subject?
How about your science subject? A single cell of the body represents a point.
Every object composed of firmly pack particles that joined
together.

2. Presentation of lesson
What is an angle? An angle is formed by two rays with a common endpoint, and
which are not on the same line. Two rays are the sides of the
angle and the common endpoint is called the vertex.
What are the different kinds of 1. acute angle is an angle that measures less than 90°
angles? 2. right angle is an angle that measure 90°
What is a device used to measure 3. obtuse angle is an angle that measure greater than 90° but less
angle? than 180°
How to measure angles? 4. straight angle is an angle whose measure is exactly 180⁰.
5. reflex angle is an angle whose measure is greater than 180⁰but
less than 360⁰.
6. complete angle is an angle whose measure is exactly 360⁰.
What are the kinds of angles?
acute, right, obtuse, straight, reflex and complete angles.
3. Develop mastery
Identify the kind of each angle
with the given measures. (Given
are figures of angles with
measurements) (figures of angles be flashed on the board)

4. Practical application
Give real life objects that
represent angles.
parts of houses or buildings, hammer, and tools used in
cultivating a garden
Give the uses or importance of
angles in our life. Importance of Angles in Real Life
•Used in making furniture, house and building designs.
•Important for us to go up to a story building or higher grounds.
•If you have deeper understanding of angles, someday you will
be an expert carpenter, mathematician, engineer, or architect.
•There are also activities or games we need to know the correct
angles to use such as: cutting of fire woods, manual pumping of a
deep-well, and playing a billiard game etc.

5. Learning Evaluation
Draw and name each angle with the given measurements.

1. 120⁰ 3. 180⁰ 5. 160⁰ 7. 280⁰ 9. 12⁰

2. 30⁰ 4. 45⁰ 6. 245⁰ 8. 360⁰ 10. 90⁰

6. Homework
Compose a song using points,
lines, planes and angles There’s an angle(2x) in a subject Geometry…
