Lesson Plan – English 11 Global Success
I. OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. Knowledge:
- Gain vocabulary and expressions related to the topic Education options for school-leavers;
- Gain vocabulary to talk about planning the education;
- Get to know the language aspects: Perfect gerunds & perfect participle clauses
2. Competences:
a) General competences:
- Self-control & independent learning
- Communication and collaboration
b) Language skills:
- Listening, reading and speaking skills
3. Attributes:
- Actively join in class activities
- Get ready and be responsible for the education choices after leaving schools

III. PRODEDURE
1. ACTIVITY 1. WARM UP (5 minutes)
a. Aims: To create a friendly atmosphere in the class before the lesson and lead into the new lesson
b. Content/Performance tasks:
“Guessing” Game Rule
• Divide the class into 3 teams.
• Ss look at the picture of the universities and guess the name of famous universities in Viet Nam
• The group who finally has the most correct answer will be the winner.
• Contents of the game: Lists of the university
- Set the context for the listening and reading by asking students
use 1 sentence to describe the picture - Pay attention.
- To raise students’ curiosity, encourage Ss to guess the answers - Look at the picture and guess.

- Play the recording twice for Ss to listen ans read along, then

Task 4: Complete the sentences using phrases from the - Note down the answers

- Ask Ss read each sentence individually. Encourage them to try
to complete it with an appropriate verb phrase without
referring to the conversation. Then ask them to find the answers
in the conversation.
- Teacher checks answers: first ask the class to call out the
correct perfect gerund or perfect participle clause, then call on
individual Ss to read the complete sentences.
- Teacher tells Ss that they will learn more about the grammar
point in the following lesson.
4.ACTIVITY 4: PRODUCTION
a.Aims: to enhance lexical items
b.Contents:
“Tarsia Puzzle” Game
• It looks like domino activity form of puzzle
• Each piece has a question or answer in it.
• Students match the pieces together correctly by matching the questions with the side of another piece
showing the correct answers.
• The group who can finish in the shortest time will be the winner.
