DUCTLESS SPLIT SYSTEMS

Similar to central cooling systems, Ductless split systems are categorized as air conditioning
(cooling only) and heat pump systems which provide heating and cooling.

A SINGLE-ZONE SYSTEM INCLUDES a condensing unit (outdoor) and an evaporator unit

(indoor). Inverter mini-splits use electricity to pump refrigerant through copper piping
and transfer heat from one space to another through a condenser using a compressor.

HEAT PUMP SYSTEMS make it possible for a condensing unit to switch from producing
cooling or heating through the use of a reversing valve, or 4-way valve. This valve
reverses the flow of refrigerant through the compressor to provide comfort cooling
or heating depending on the preference of the end user.
