Class – 10th Maths Practical Viva-voce Session 2024-25

Topic – Circles
Q1- How many tangents can be drawn to a circle from an external point?
Ans- Two tangents can be drawn to a circle from an external point.
Q2- Define a tangent to a circle.
Ans- A tangent is a straight line that touches the circle at exactly one point without cutting through it.
Q3- What is the relation between the radius and the tangent at the point of contact?
Ans- The radius is perpendicular to the tangent at the point of contact.
Q4- Can a tangent intersect a circle?
Ans- No, a tangent only touches the circle at one point. It does not intersect it.
Q5- What is the point called where a tangent touches a circle?
Ans- The point of contact.
Q6- How many tangents can be drawn at appoint of contact?
Ans- Only one tangent can be drawn at a point of contact.
Q7- How many tangents can a circle have?
Ans- Infinitely many tangents
Topic-Probability
Q1- What is the probability of an impossible event?
Ans- The probability of an impossible event is 0.
Q2- Define the sample space in probability.
Ans- The sample space is the set of all possible outcomes of a random experiment.
Q-3 If a die is rolled, what is the favorable outcomes of getting an even number?
Ans- 2, 4, 6.
Q4- Define sure event.
Ans- Those events whose probabilities one.
Q5- How many total face cards and ace cards are there in a set of cards?
Ans- Total face cards 12 and ace cards 4.
Q6- Find the probability of getting a doublet if two different dice are tossed together.
6/36 =1/6
Q7- Can 6/5 be a probability of an event.
Ans- No, as 0 ≤ P(E) ≤ 1.
Q8- What is the sum of probabilities of all the elementary events of an experiment?
Ans- One
Q9 – What is the probability of getting a queen of red cards.
Ans- 2/52 =1/26
Topic- Clinometer
Q1- Define an angle of elevation.
Ans- The angle of elevation is the angle formed by the horizontal line and the line of sight when the observer looks upward to an
object.
Q2- Define an angle of depression.
Ans- The angle of depression is the angle formed by the horizontal line and the line of sight when the observer looks downward to
an object.
Q3- In which quadrant is the angle of elevation always found?
Ans- The angle of elevation is always found in the first quadrant.
Q4- Why are right-angled triangles used in trigonometry applications?
Ans- Right-angled triangles allow the application of trigonometric ratios, which are defined based on their sides.
Q5- Can the angle of elevation be greater than 90°? Why or why not?
Ans- No, the angle of elevation cannot be greater than 90° because it would no longer form a right triangle.
Q6- If the angle of elevation increases, what happens to the apparent height of an object?
Ans- The apparent height of the object appears to increase as the angle of elevation increases.
Q7- Why is trigonometry important in real-life applications?
Ans-Trigonometry is essential for solving problems in navigation, construction, astronomy, and various engineering fields.
Topic- Linear Equations
Q1- If a pair of linear equation is consistence, then what type of lines graph have?
Ans- Intersecting or coincident lines.
Q2- What is the equation of a line parallel to x-axis?
Ans- y = a, where a is any constant.
Q3- What is the equation of a line parallel to y-axis?
Ans- x = b, where b is any constant.
Q4- If pair of linear equations have dependent solutions then what type of lines will be on graph?
Ans- Coincident lines
Q5- If pair of linear equations have Parallel lines then what type of solution the lines have?
Ans- Inconsistence, No solution
Q6- If x=3 and y=5 then what type of solution the lines have?
Ans- Unique solution or One solution.
Q7- Is pair of linear equations 3x + 2y – 9 =0 and 2x + 3y – 9 =0 has consistent solution?
Ans- yes
