Guidelines to Admission Procedure
Lady Brabourne College is inviting 3rd Phase fresh applications for online
admission to selected U.G. courses for the session 2023-24. Interested
candidates are instructed to carefully follow the guidelines given below to
secure admission tothe college.

Applications are invited for Admission to Four-Year B.A.


(Honours with or without Research) Courses in:
BENGALI, HINDI, HISTORY, PERSIAN, PHILOSOPHY, POLITICAL
SCIENCE, SOCIOLOGY, SANSKRIT, URDU, STATISTICS, PHYSICS,
MATHEMATICS, MICROBIOLOGY, BOTANY, CHEMISTRY,
ECONOMICS and GEOGRAPHY
 Candidates will be able to apply online through the admission portal
https://admission.ladybraboune.ac.in
 Online application for the above courses will be open from 14.09.2023
(Thursday), 10 AM to 17.09.2023 (Sunday), 2 PM.
 Candidates will have to fulfil the minimum eligibility criterion given
below.
 After completion of application process subject-wise Merit List(provisional)
will published on the portal on 18.09.2023 after 10 AM.
 Eligible candidates will be called for admission according to merit.
 Names of eligible candidates will be published in the Call Lists and candidates
should get themselves admitted by paying the admission fee onlinewithin the
time mentioned in the respective Call Lists.
 A Call List is valid for a particular Round of Admission. If a candidate failsto take
admission within the stipulated time she may not be considered later.
 Please follow Admission schedules and notifications that are beingpublished on
the admission portal.
 Admission fees for all B.A. Honours Courses: Rs 3851 /-
 SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates of other states will be treated as Unreserved
candidates and they cannot avail the benefits of reservation.

 The college will use its discretion regarding choice of subjects that will be considered for Best 4
Aggregate Calculation.
 All Candidates applying for B.SC. Hons. must have secured 60% in ENGLISH at H.S. (10 + 2) Level
or equivalent.
 For SC/ST/OBC-A and OBC-B applicants, relaxation in eligibility criterion will be maintained
according to norm (i.e., 40% in Aggregate or 40% in subject or related subject).
 Index marks calculation formulae will be same across all categories.
 Those opting for Computer Science as Minor subject should have Mathematics and any one of
Physics/Statistics/Computer Science at 10+2 level.

 The college offers 19 subjects as Minors. The applicants are required to
choose any two Minor subjects offered by the College from the same
discipline as the Major.
 It must be noted that in case of Economics and Geography Majors, after
successful completion of the course, the degrees conferred may be B.A. or
B.Sc. . The nomenclature of degree will depend on the Minor Subjects chosen
by the candidates. To secure B.Sc. degree in Economics & Geography, a
student has to choose both the Minor subjects from Science discipline.

Important Information
 Merit List (provisional) to be published tentatively on 18.09.2023 onthe
admission portal https://admission.ladybrabourne.ac.in. Applicants must
follow the said admission portal for publication of detailed Admission
Schedules, Call Lists and other Notices.
 The Merit List (provisional) for every course indicates the position of an
applicant as per merit in respect to other applicants. Appearance of name on
the Merit List does not ensure admission to Lady Brabourne College.
 Only candidates whose names will be published in the Call Lists will be eligible
for admission.
 There will be NO Admission Test for admission to any B.A./B.Sc. course. The
Merit List (provisional) will be prepared according to the “Index Marks
Formulae” given below.
 After publication of Revised Merit List (provisional) online admission will be
conducted through the college portal in several rounds.
 Admission Schedule(s) for all rounds of online admission will be published in
the portal https://admission.ladybrabourne.ac.in. Online admission to the
college will be conducted according to the Admission Schedule(s) and selected
candidates are required to follow the same carefully.
 Names of the eligible candidates will be published from time to time (round
wise) in Call Lists prepared according to merit of candidates and available
vacancies. Only candidates whose names appear on the Call Lists can take
online admission and pay the admission fee online through this portal.
 For every round of admission there will be separate Call Lists in courses
where vacancies are available and candidates will be given a particular time
period for online admission for every round. The Call List will become invalid
beyondthe stipulated date and time.
 A candidate failing to take online admission during the given period is liable to
lose her chance of admission to the college in the selected course. Call List for
one round of admission is not valid for other rounds.
 Candidates are NOT required to report physically to the college for the
process. They are however required to follow the designated admission portal
of the college for notifications and instructions issued from time to time.The
college will not be responsible if the candidates fail to follow instructions
published on the college admission portal.
 Cancellation: Candidates admitted to a course in this college for the session
2023-24 will be able to cancel her admission online through the portal. They
are required to preserve the cancellation voucher generated during online
cancellation for future reference. There is no provision for offline cancellation
of admission.
 During the online admission process, a candidate already admitted to a course
in this college in an earlier round of admission, can shift to another course of
the candidate’s choice during a later round of admission, provided her name
appears in the respective Call List valid for the said later round. In such cases
the candidate must cancel her previous admission online before proceeding
to take admission to the course of her choice. A candidate cannot occupy
more than one seat at the same time in the college.
 If a candidate decides to get admitted to any other institution after admission
to a course in Lady Brabourne College, the said candidate should immediately
cancel her seat in this college. Candidates are requested to refrain from
unnecessary blocking of seats for the sake of good order.
 It must be noted that if a candidate cancels her admission to a particular
course, she cannot claim seat in that course later.
 All online admission is provisional and is subject to verification of relevant
documents. The college reserves its rights to cancel a candidate’s admission if
the documents are not found in conformity with the declaration made in the
form submitted online.
 Lady Brabourne College reserves its rights to modify and amend published
notices and schedules regarding admission. Applicants are required to comply
accordingly.
 Admission to the college is granted on the understanding that the student
undertakes to conform to the rules and codes of conduct of Lady BrabourneCollege
and the University of Calcutta.
 Payment of admission fees: At the time of admission a candidate will have to
make online payment of fees. No admission will be valid without successful
payment of admission fees. Payment of fees at the time of admission will be
made in online mode only.

 For all B.A. Courses: Rs 3851/-


 For all B.Sc. Courses & B.A. Course with Major in Geography: Rs 4621/-
 For B.A. Course with Major in Economics: Rs 4096/-

 Refund: Refund against cancellation of admission will be processed as per


U.G.C. guidelines. Refund will be made online and will be processed only after
closure of the admission of the current session. The refund amount (as permissible
by the UGC guidelines) will be transferred to the bank account provided by the
candidate during online cancellation. The college will not be responsible for any
erroneous information provided by the candidate. Candidates must follow
notifications published on the college admission portal.
