What is a Political Caricature?

• A modern art form exaggerating human features to poke fun at subjects.

• Also known as editorial cartoons, expressing opinions on political and social


issues.

• A unique medium for criticism and public awareness.

Explanation: and also a political caricature is a type of artwork designed to


highlight, exaggerate, or mock the characteristics of individuals, especially
those in politics or positions of influence

Ang definition nito, isa itong visual art na kadalasan ine’exagerates ang
human features para sa komediko satirikal na epekto.

Ginagamit ito upang pangcomment sa mga issue noon at hanggang hangyon


sa politika o mga social issues po sa way katawa-tawa

Madalas rin pala itong tawagin na editorial cartoons

justice at ang agwat ng economic equality.

Example: Colorum Vehicles

• Criticism of unregulated public transport (colorum taxis & jeepneys).

• Emphasizes road safety concerns and corruption in transportation.

Hinahighlight nito ang cristicsm ng unregulated public transportation tulad


ng colurum na taxi at jeepney. Ine’emphasize nito ang mga concerns tungkol
sa road safety at corruption sa sektor ng transportasyon

Example: Cinema Rules

• Police officer on screen bans public displays of affection.

• Highlights generational differences in social norms.

Ipininapakita nito ang isang pulis sa screen na nag babawal sa public ang
pagpapakita ng pagmamahalan, na ine’emphasize ang mga pagkakaiba ng
generation sa societal norms at values

• Filipinos pull a chariot carrying an American leader.

• Symbolizes American influence on Filipino education and culture.

Pinapakita naman nito ang mga pilipinong humihila ng chariot na may sakay
na American leader, na siinsymbolize ang empluwensya ng America sa
education at culture natin
