HISTORY OF MAM ISHAKU DAGAREH

Early life and Background


Mam Ishaku Dagareh was born on August 9, 1991, in Askra Local Government Area of Borno
State, Nigeria, to the family of Mal. Mam Alambazam. He belongs to the Karaikarai tribe and
hails from Dagareh town in the Nangere Local Government Area of Yobe State. His educational
journey began at Army Children’s Primary School, where he studied from 1997 until November
3, 2003. He then attended Government Science and Technical College Potiskum from
November 3, 2003, to July 5, 2009, where he completed his secondary education.
Higher Education
After finishing secondary school, Ishaku enrolled at the Federal College of Education Technical
Potiskum on October 19, 2009. He pursued a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) in
Integrated Science and Physics, which he successfully obtained on July 17, 2014. His academic
path continued at the Federal University Dutse in Jigawa State, where he was admitted on
November 1, 2016. He earned a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Physics on November
27, 2019, and was recognized on the Dean’s List for his outstanding academic performance on
February 11, 2020.
Teaching Career
Ishaku's teaching career commenced during his teaching practice at the Federal College of
Education Technical Demonstration Secondary School Potiskum from October 15, 2012, to April
15, 2013. Since then, he has held various teaching positions across multiple institutions,
demonstrating his commitment to education:
2014-2016: He taught English Language and Quantitative Reasoning at Young Learners’
Academy Potiskum, followed by General Mathematics, Physics, and Further Mathematics at
International Private School and Technoserve Nationwide
2018-2020. He taught Basic Science and Technology and General Mathematics at Tikau
Primary School, later transitioning to Basic Technology and Physics at International Private
School and Technoserve.
2020-2021: During his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) from March 10, 2020, to March 9,
2021, he taught General Mathematics and Physics.
2021-2025: He has held various teaching roles, including lecturing in Medical Physics at the
School of Medical Career Guidance in Potiskum and teaching at Divine Mercy Model School,
and Golden Brown School in Dutse.
Postgraduate Studies and Research
In January 2022, Ishaku embarked on postgraduate studies, pursued a M.Sc. in Solid State
Physics and Material Science with a focus on photocatalytic hydrogen production. in the field.
Professional Development
Ishaku has continuously sought to enhance his skills through various training programs. He
completed certificates in Computer Operations and Electrical and Electronics Engineering, as
well as training in Computer Repair Engineering. His technical skills complement his teaching
abilities, allowing him to integrate practical applications of physics into his lessons.
Professional Bodies and Achievement
Mam Ishaku Dagareh is a certified teacher registered with the Teacher Registration Council of
Nigeria as of 2023 and is also a member of the Nigerian Association of Mathematical Physics.
He has presented research papers at both local and international conferences and has
published several articles.

Community and Faith Service


Beyond his professional endeavors, Ishaku is deeply involved in his community and faith. He
was baptized in the ECWA Church Number One Potiskum on December 11, 2010, under the
mentorship of the late Rev. Iliya Gambo, and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior on
January 15, 2006, through the guidance of Mr. Ichabod Gabriel. He served as a youth leader in
the youth fellowship at ECWA Shagari Low-Cost Potiskum from 2014 to 2018 and was the Bible
Study Coordinator in the Christian Students’ Fellowship at Government Science and Technical
Potiskum from 2008 to 2009.
