Teach For India took participants on overnight home visits with families in the community.
Teach For Romania visitedcommunity sites , including an adult literacy center. They spoke with adults learning to read.
Through individual conversations, they learned about these adults’ educational experiences and their perspective on what students need.
Teach For America-Hawaii hosted a series of community lunches with students, their families and other community
stakeholders in various locations across the community over several days. In these experiences, participants explored different places in the community
together with their community guides, and to deepen their understanding of community and community perspectives through informal lunch conversations.
Teach For Pakistan engaged their participants in a service project at a local community school. Through this experience, they set
the tone for service to community. Participants were able to begin to build relationships and practice authentic listening to community perspectives.
Teach For Uganda engaged their participants in a multi-day fully immersive community experience they call “Community
Bootcamp” during training that included overnight stays, numerous community conversations, and shadowing community members.
