The society does not hold together. The
nation is on the virtue of collapse. Corruption, tribalism, inequality and hatred rule the Runda society. Fragments is a play about Runda Society that is divided and riddled with corruption, tribalism, inequality and hatred enhanced by the political elites. Political leaders use their position to steal from the common man. The majority poor cannot use their power of the vote and elect their own to transform their lives because the minority creams of Runda society have divided them. The house mates have been set against the watchmen, house boys, gardeners and farm hands. The relationship between Rengo and Sofia who come from different family backgrounds give hope to a divided society. Sofia is the daughter of wealth person in Runda Society marrying Rengo, the son of village pauper. Mr. Simiyu holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Governance.
