Gr.7 Matilda The Musical
Gr.7 Matilda The Musical
Song 1 - Matilda
My mommy says I’m a lousy little worm
My daddy says I’m a boy
My mommy says I’m a jumped up little jam That
kids like me should be against the law
Mum says I’m a good case for population control
Dad says I should watch more TV
Mr.Wormwood – (on a call) yes sir, that’s right sir, 155 brand
new luxury cars sir , they all are good runners sir, yes, Ok.
(call ends)
Mixing a lot of sawdust with the oil in the gear box,it runs as
sweet as a nut. I have never seen such a good dealer in second
hand cars like me.
Mrs.Wormwood – (screaming) Look at this! she is reading. This
is not normal for a five years old child, I think she must be an
idiot!
Mr.Wormwood – What are you doing! Are you out of your
mind?
Matilda – why, what’s wrong with these books I’m reading?
Look how beautiful these stories are.
Mr,Wormwood – (Angrily)We’ve got a lovely telly with a twelve
inch screen and now you are reading a book. What’s wrong with
the telly for heaven’s sake? You are getting spoiled.
Mrs.Wormwood – (Angrily)I’m very grateful that you have to
go to the school from next week Matilda.
In Matilda’s house
Mr.Wormwood – ( opens the door) OH ! Who are you?
Miss Honey – I’m Matilda’s class teacher, I want to talk to her
parents.
Mr. Wormwood – AH! What a nasty boy kid, always get into
trouble. What has she done this time?
Miss Honey – She hasn’t done anything, shall I come inside?
Mr.Wormwood – Whatever (with a ignorance)
Miss Honey – Well, all I came to tell you was that Matilda has a
brilliant mind. But I expect that you knew that already.
Mrs. Wormwood – Why not, she spends her life up in her room
buried in some silly book.
Miss Honey – Also I have never seen a five year old
mathematical genius like Matilda. She is so brainy.
Mr. Wormwood – What are you talking about? She is a nasty
little brat always getting troubles to us.
Mrs. Wormwood – Also a girl doesn’t get a man by being brainy
Miss Honey – I’m sorry if I disturbed you, but talking to you
about Matilda is a wastage of time (rose from her chair and
walked out of the room)
In the school
Miss Honey – I got you a few more advanced books Matilda.
You can read them and return them to me whenever you
please.
Matilda – Thank you miss Honey.
Miss Honey – Aren’t you going home Matilda? It’s late now.
Matilda – Really? I’m very sorry for you loss Miss Honey.
That is terrible.
Miss Honey – Yes, Matilda it is terrible. It’s getting late. I think
you should go now. I will take you home.
In Matilda’s house
Miss Honey – Well, we are here. Let me know what you think of
Charles Dickens. I will see you tomorrow.
