Chapter 1: Introduction
The settings in this guide were specified by FedEx Office Asset Management for use
across all imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5560 devices in their fleet that have an
imagePASS-P1 attached.
Important
- Any device being removed from a FedEx Office center must have its hard disk
drive erased using the single pass process native to the device. If the
process to clear the hard disk takes more than 45 minutes the drive should
be removed from the device and given to the FedEx Office Center Manager
or Supervisor on duty. FedEx Office has a process in place to dispose of
the drives. Once the drive is provided, the FedEx Office team member
should sign the “Certification of Canon Machine Hard Disk Drive Erase”
form. The imagePASS must have a [Clear Server] performed. This can be
done by running setup from the Fiery menu of the engine or Command
Workstation. A form confirming this has been completed can be found in the
Appendix of this guide and should be countersigned by the Center Manager and
the Technician before sending the form to the email address on the form. It is
acceptable to leave a copy of the form with the Center Manager if they request it.
- It is essential that any device installed in a FedEx Office center is configured to
the specifications identified in this guide. As a result, this Configuration and
Installation Guide applies long after the installation has been completed
and should be used when performing field updates.
- FedEx Office Asset Management planners have confirmed the installation date
and the devices to be removed with the Center Manager and their District
Manager. If you are asked to deviate from the installation plan in any way,
inform the FedEx Office Center Manager to contact their District Manager
or their Asset Management Team at FedEx Office Headquarters for
approval. This includes delaying the installation to another day, leaving a
legacy device rather than picking it up, delaying removal or clearing of the
HDD for more than a reasonable amount of time, or using settings that are
different from what is contained in this Guide.
- Upon completion of the installation, a Fiery Configuration Page must be printed
(the procedures can be found in Chapter 12: Post Installation Actions). The
imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5560 Post Installation Checklist and
Certification of Canon Machine Hard Disk Drive Erase form(s) must be
completed and signed by the Technician and Center Manager (or their designee).
The Technician must then scan all four (4) documents to create one PDF file, and
send it to:
fxo_order_management@cusa.canon.com
4 imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5560 with imagePASS-P1 Full Service Configuration and Installation Guide
If the Center Manager (or their designee) refuses to sign any of these documents, you
should indicate this refusal to sign on the bottom of the particular form.
Before proceeding with the installation, make sure that you have the following:

Chapter 2: Preparing the Device Being Removed
Note : If no device is being removed, please proceed to Chapter 3
C. Erasing customer data from the imageRUNNER ADVANCE Hard Disk Drive
Before a device is removed from the FedEx Office center, the HDD must be initialized
using the “Initialize All Data/Settings” function on the imageRUNNER ADVANCE
device. This is done in user mode with the following steps:
a) Select [Settings/Registration]
b) Log into the device using the center password (center number)
c) Select [Management Settings]
d) Select [Data Management]
e) Select [Initialize All Data/Settings]
f) Select [OK] to initialize the HDD

Important
Once the process has been run, the Certification of Canon Machine Hard Disk Drive
Erase form found on e-Support and in the Appendix of this document should be
completed by the Technician and signed by the Center Manager.
It is the Technician’s responsibility to scan and email the completed form to the email
box identified on the form so that it is confirmed that Canon has complied with FedEx
Office data security requirements.

Chapter 5: Center IP / Subnet Mask / Gateway
Obtaining an IP Address
Note: FedEx Office utilizes a security feature that prevents unauthorized devices from
connecting to their network (Sticky Ports). Before the device can gain access, the port
must be cleared by FedEx Office IT. This is initiated by a FedEx Office team member
contacting FedEx Office IT by chat, or by phone using the ‘Center Down’ option. Once
the port is cleared the device will have to be restarted to gain network access.
1. The best way to obtain the Center IP address is to capture the IP addresses from
the Configuration Page of the device that is being replaced.
2. Ask the Center Manager for the IP address prior to the installation. This can be
found on the Network Map displayed in the center.
Note : If there are any concerns regarding network configurations, the FXO Center Manager
or Field Technology Specialist should be contacted immediately.
18 imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5560 with imagePASS-P1 Full Service Configuration and Installation Guide
Chapter 6: imagePASS-P1 Set-up
This section will guide you through the setup of the imagePASS-P1 to meet the FedEx
Office Standard configuration. All files for this section can be obtained from the Canon
e-Support site under the Major Accounts section > New MFP Deployment.
Note: A reference configuration page with highlighted yellow sections showing FedEx
Office settings is included at the end of this document. It can be used to compare the
configuration after engine and controller setup are completed.
Note: The IP address obtained in Chapter 5 will be used to configure the controller.
The Subnet mask and gateway will be identical to the machine being replaced.

Chapter 11: Quality Validation Process
A two-step process is required to ensure the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5560 is
making high quality prints after installation has been complete. The process involves:
- A visual inspection/comparison of image quality
- Measurement of color quality
The Center Manager should lay the Validation Proof next to the Validation Master on
a flat surface, preferably one with even lighting. Visually inspect and compare the
Validation Proof to the Validation Master looking at each section for the following:
Solids: There should be no mottled appearance, graininess or any other visual
defect
Gradients: There should be no banding or streaks.
Registration: Lines should be solid black with no other colors showing.
Resolution: All lines should be printing, be straight and no stair stepping.
Image Position: The green mark should be showing at each corner.
CMYK Images and RGB Images: The images should be visually similar to the
Validation Master.
Spot Color: A correct spot color target should be a solid purple square.
Font Size: The smallest readable type should be the same size as the smallest
readable type on the Validation Master.
Moire: The lines should be sharp and straight, no patterns.
Gray Balance: The gray squares and circles should be the same color as the
squares and circles on the Validation Master.
PPA Verification: Confirms if the file was printed through the PPA workflow.
Gray Scale: The image should be visually similar to the Validation Master.
Uniformity: Gray bars should be even and consistent across the page. No light
or dark areas.

Color Verification Measurement
The Center Manager launches the PPA Printer Color Verification application and prints
the Printer Color Verification Chart that has 29 color patches. The Center manager then
uses the Spyder Colorimeter to measure the L.A.B values for each of the patches on
the chart.
The application will determine whether the color values measured for each patch are
within the acceptable range to which FedEx Office and Canon USA have agreed. In
cases where Printer Color Verification Chart does not pass, the technician should take
remedial steps to improve the print quality. If the technician requires assistance, they
should contact Canon’s Technical Support Center @ 1-800-528-2830.

Chapter 12: Post Installation Actions
After the installation steps are completed a Fiery Configuration Page must be printed,
and the Equipment Service and Support Sticker must be affixed to the front cover.
The Technician must scan the Fiery Configuration Page, and the completed and
signed imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5560 Post Installation Checklist and
Certification of Canon Machine Hard Disk Drive Erase form(s) to create one PDF file
and send it to:
