Introduction
The WorkstationST* Web feature provides access to WorkstationST data over the
Internet and displays configuration data for all variables and Ethernet Global Data
(EGD) exchanges. The format and functionality of the web page is derived from the
On Site Monitor (OSM) Mark* VI GE Control System Solutions (toolbox) point
browser, wpbro6.exe.

Enabling WorkstationST Web


An installation file, WorkstationSTWebSetup.msi, is included in the
installation folder (WorkstationST Features) for the WorkstationST application. This
installation must be run to enable the WorkstationST Web feature.
To install WorkstationST Web
1 From the desktop, double-click the My Computer icon.
2 Double-click the System drive (typically C:).
3 Double-click the Program Files folder.
4 Double-click the GE Energy folder.
5 Double-click the WorkstationST Features folder.
6 Double-click the WorkstationSTWebSetup.msi file and follow the
installation screens.
7 Once the WorkstationST Web feature is installed, it must also be enabled in the
WorkstationST Component Editor.

To enable the WorkstationST Web feature
Open the ToolboxST application. From the System Editor Tree View,
double-click a WorkstationST component. The Component Editor
displays.

Select the
General tab.

From the Property


Editor, select Web
Access and set to
True.

Accessing WorkstationST Web
Using Internet Explorer, browse to:

http://<WorkstationST hostname>/WorkstationSTWeb/MarkVIePointBrowser.aspx.

The only significant difference between the WorkstationST Web version and wpbro6
is that the device name can be selected from a WorkstationST Web drop-down list.

When the device name is selected, the following screen displays:

Remote Access
Remote programs can also access the WorkstationST Web feature by entering
http://request/response protocol in Microsoft Explorer. The http:// request consists of
the target URL followed by a question mark (?) and a list of parameter-value pairs,
separated by the symbol &. For example:

http://<hostname>/WorkstationSTWeb/MarkviePointBrowser.as
px?DEVICENAME=Ethan&LISTTYPE=1&FILETYPE=2&POINTNAME=2&WIL
