Lab 3: New Installation
Introduction
In this lab, you will be able to setup the array from scratch. After this procedure all the
arrays’ data is gone, RAID Groups are deleted, Memory is cleared, and License Keys must
be reinstalled.
Important: For New Installation, a MPC (Maintenance PC) is required. Additionally, the MPC
must be configured and a connection to the array will be established. The array will be
installed from scratch. Finally, all connections and internal paths will be checked.
Note:
1. The New Installation process flowchart is included in this lab guide.
2. This version of the New Installation flowchart and notes were taken from
Maintenance manual e07INST5.pdf version associated with DKCMAIN 93-04-01-
40/00 (February 2021 GA).
3. You must take the time to compare the New Installation flowchart printed here
against the version in the correct Maintenance manual version for the microcode
version you will use.
4. Do not perform the New Installation with the newest microcode. This gives you the
capability to perform a Microcode Upgrade.
5. Install a minimum configuration without back-end. This will be installed later.
