UAV swarms, consisting of multiple coordinated drones, offer enhanced
capabilities but require robust communication systems. This project addresses
the challenges of UAV swarm communication with limited bandwidth, high
interference, and potential congestion. The purpose is to develop advanced
communication systems tailored for UAV swarms, improving performance,
reliability, and scalability. The project employs a multi-faceted approach. It
analyzes communication technologies suitable for UAV swarms, such as ad hoc
networking, wireless mesh networks, and multi-hop relay systems. Advanced
communication protocols and algorithms optimized for UAV swarm environments
are developed, considering energy efficiency, latency, and throughput.
Simulation-based experiments and hardware-in-the-loop testing evaluate the
proposed communication systems. Hardware-in-the-loop testing integrates the
communication systems into physical UAV swarm setups for real-world
validation. Expected results include robust and efficient communication systems
for UAV swarms, overcoming limitations of existing technologies. This project
contributes to advancing UAV swarm technology, enabling sophisticated and
autonomous swarm operations.
