SOC Team Task No 2

Wazuh Installation and Agent Deployment on VirtualBox

You are required to install and configure Wazuh on VirtualBox, and set up a Wazuh agent on
Ubuntu 20.04. Follow the steps outlined below and document your process with appropriate
screenshots.

Question Steps:

1. Wazuh Virtual Machine Setup:


o Download the Wazuh .ova file from the official Wazuh documentation or the
provided link.
o Import the Wazuh .ova file into VirtualBox.
o Change the machine base folder to your desired location.
o Provide a screenshot of the successful import process (Picture 1.0).
2. Network Configuration:
o Modify the VirtualBox network settings for Wazuh by setting the network adapter
to "NAT Network".
o Provide a screenshot showing the updated network settings (Picture 1.1).
3. Wazuh Virtual Machine IP Address:
o Start the Wazuh virtual machine and log in using:
▪ Username: wazuh-user
▪ Password: wazuh
o Use the command ip a to display the IP address of your Wazuh virtual machine.
o Provide a screenshot of the displayed IP address (Picture 1.2).
4. Accessing the Wazuh Dashboard:
o Open a browser on your local machine and enter the Wazuh VM IP address (e.g.,
192.168..) to access the Wazuh dashboard.
o Log in using:
▪ Username: admin
▪ Password: admin
o Provide a screenshot of the login window (Picture 1.3).
5. Navigating the Wazuh Dashboard:
o Upon logging in, navigate the dashboard and identify the "Overview" section.
o Provide a screenshot of the Wazuh dashboard layout (Picture 1.4).
6. Deploying the Wazuh Agent:
o In the Wazuh dashboard, choose the operating system (Ubuntu 20.04) for agent
deployment.
o Enter the Wazuh Manager IP as required.
o Copy and execute the "Install and Enroll Agent" command on your Ubuntu
20.04 machine.
o Provide screenshots for:
▪ The command execution process (Picture 1.5).
▪ Successful agent installation and agent appearing online in the Wazuh
dashboard (Picture 1.6).
7. Verification:
o Refresh the Wazuh dashboard and verify that the new agent is displayed.
o Provide a final screenshot showing the updated Wazuh dashboard layout with the
new agent.

Deliverables:

1. Documented step-by-step process.


2. Screenshots for each of the steps (1.0 - 1.6).
3. A brief summary explaining what you observed during the setup and agent deployment
process.

This updated task keeps the core steps intact but changes certain aspects like the OS version and
network configuration for slight variation.
