Greetings:
Good morning, Teacher!
Good morning, Grade 6!
I am Teacher Angelica and I will be your
teacher in Music 6.

Prayer:

Before we start our class for today, May I In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of
request someone to lead us a prayer. the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Checking of Attendance:
(Pupils will check if their seatmate are presents)
Is everybody present?

Check if your seatmates are there.

Very Good, everybody is present.

Let’s clap our hands for ourselves.


(Pupils happily clap their hands)
B. Motivation

‘’Before we start our discussion, I want you to


dance the Chicken Dance.’’

‘’Are you ready?’’ ‘’Yes, teacher!’’

‘’If you now all ready, clap once, clap twice, clap
thrice. And if you can hear me, match me, match
me, match me!’’
(Pupils follow the instructions)
‘’Now, let us all stand and have the energizer.’’

(Play the chicken dance)

‘’Was it great?’’
(The students will dance.)
‘’Did you like the dance?’’
‘’Yes, teacher!’’
‘’Now, what did you notice while performing the
dance? Anyone? And whoever will recite and get ‘’Yes, teacher!’’
the right answer, will be given a reward.’’ (Someone raising his/her hand)
‘’Very good!’’ ‘’The dance was slow at first then it goes faster.’’

Tempo is the speed in music. It can be slow and


fast. Just like how we did in the Chicken dance, we
danced it in slow and fast tempo.

different songs.’’

(Play song with slow tempo.)


(The pupils will listen to the song.)
‘’What do you notice about the song?’’
‘’ The song has a slow tempo.’’
‘’That’s right! As you can see, slow tempo is
commonly used in lullabies, sad songs, love songs,
and etc.’’

‘’Can you give me another example?’’

‘’Wow! Let us give him a Wow clap.’’ (The pupil will sing a song that has a slow tempo.)

(The pupils will do the Wow clap.)

‘’Now, let’s listen to another set of songs.’’

(Play different songs with fast tempo.) (The pupils will listen to the song.)

‘’What do you notice to the song?’’ ‘’The song has a fast tempo.’’

‘’Exactly! We can observe that the fast tempo is


commonly used in happy, dance, and party songs.’’
