Radio Security Advisor
The NCSC EaRS team are seeking a Radio Security professional to help shape the future of the UK Radio Frequency (RF) industry. We are looking for an engaging individual that can play a key role in evolving the UK RF industry to meet the present and emerging threats to our radio systems within the UK. The ideal candidate will have a blend of radio and cyber security skills and understand the use of radio within the industrial and commodity spaces. They will also have experience of leading Radio Security work and understand how to deploy radio networks at scale with a focus on resilience. An understanding of radio vulnerabilities in deployed RF networks and how to both prevent them and expose them is desirable. Hands on experience with radio system testing and remediating vulnerabilities in RF systems is also desirable. The successful candidate will become a secondee within an inclusive team that delivers and supports world-leading research and guidance, and endeavours to improve the cyber security of radio systems used across the UK. Within this team, the candidate’s main role will be to stimulate wider interest in the Radio Security space across the UK with a potential outcome of assisting NCSC to evolve techniques and good practices for RF pen testing and consultancy. Attachments are flexible, but typically candidates would need to commit to 1 or 2 days a week for a 6 month period. The roles are based at the NCSC HQ in Victoria, London and, due to the nature of the work, must hold a minimum of SC clearance or be willing to undergo the National Security Vetting clearance process.
