UPON ARRIVAL
How to get from London / Birmingham to campus ?
National express bus / cab/ train (book your cab beforehand!)
Use the "Trainline" app to book your train tickets in the UK
Since it’s probably your first time travelling alone, we recommend
travelling with atleast 2 or 3 people
Nearest train stations
Coventry Rail Station - 15 mins by bus from campus
Leamington Rail Station - 25 mins by bus from campus
Warwick Campus from major cities
London - 1 hour 20 minutes by a direct train
Birmingham- 30 minutes by a direct train
Bicester Village - 1 hour by a direct train

TRAVEL ACROSS CAMPUS


How to travel on & off campus?
Cycling / electric scooter / walking
Book an Uber to travel late nights off campus. Black cabs are also available
Walking late at night?
Safety checkpoints at several places across the campus
Campus security is easily accessible on campus
Travelling to nearby cities and towns (Leamington Spa, Coventry etc)
Bus stop (Interchange) on campus- use MyWarwick app/ Stagecoach
app to check bus timings for easy commute
Bus Routes- Use buses U1/U2 to travel to Leamington Spa and 12X to
travel to Coventry city centre/ Coventry rail station
Miscellaneous
Railcard - 16 to 25 railcard is very useful for travelling by train to the
nearby cities. It helps in getting discounts when booking train tickets.

Which Bank Account to open?
Barclays/ HSBC / Santander/ - branches in Leamington Spa and Coventry
Online banking accounts (easy to open) - Monzo (for under 18) / Starling /
Revolut
You can get your proof of residence from the Senate house once you arrive on
campus. You might need it at the time of opening your bank account
Book your appointment as soon as possible to avoid a long waiting list

BUDGETING
How to manage a student budget at university?
Use ‘eating at Warwick’ to get 10% off on all of your on-campus eating
Shop at Tesco or Aldi. Poundland is also an excellent place for good deals. The
Tesco clubcard is very helpful to get your essentials at a cheaper rate.
UNiDAYS and Student Beans apps are very helpful at university life to avail
discounts on popular brands
Always ask for student discounts and carry your student IDs. These discounts
could be availed at restaurants, grocery stores, shopping and places for
entertainment
Part-time jobs?
Paid part-time jobs are available via Unitemps in Coventry & Leamington Spa
Participate in Warwick Sona on-campus

Where can you continue your sports at university?
Warwick Sports Hub has a variety of sports facilities like the gymnasium,
badminton, swimming, squash, indoor rock climbing, etc.
Facilities like fitness classes are also available on the Warwick sport website.
There are various sports societies and clubs you can join once you arrive on
campus.

SOCIETIES
Where can you explore your passion?
There are several societies you can join on campus such as
academic, sports, dance, cultural and many other societies. It helps
you connect with like minded people and gain important skills.
Make sure to attend all Fresher Week events (especially the societies
fair) to know more about what every society has to offer. Keep
checking the welcome week calendar for more information. We the

HEALTHCARE & GROOMING
HEALTHCARE
What healthcare facilities are available on campus?
There is a NHS centre on campus. A hospital close by in Coventry (in case of
emergencies). The campus pharmacy can also help out.
You can get in contact with the university GP for future emergencies or healthcare
options.
There is a medical store on campus in the SU building for medication
Register with the health centre on campus as soon as you arrive (you can register
online to be assigned to a GP and get your NHS number too)

What grooming facilities are available?
Chaplin’s, Cannon Park - Haircuts
Jassi’s, Leamington Spa - Eyebrows/ Waxing
Hatch, Leamington Spa - Haircuts
Plenty of other options available in Leamington and Coventry city centres

SHOPPING AND ESSENTIALS


Where can you shop from?
London city centre is only an hour long train from Coventry rail
station.
Bullring and Grand Central, Birmingham are only a 20-30 mins train
ride from Coventry.
For high-end shopping, Bicester Village is also an hour away via a
train.
Leamington - Upper Parade and Royal Priors - H&M, Oliver Bonas,
Superdry, River Island etc.
Winter clothing is a must at university for the autumn and spring
term.
