LABORATORY

SAFETY RULES
Lab safety is essential to prevent accidents and ensure a safe
environment for experiments by following basic protective
measures.

Wear Personal Protective Equipment:

Always wear appropriate PPE, including

lab coats, gloves, goggles, and face
shields. This gear protects against
chemical spills, splashes, and exposure to
hazardous materials.

Know the emergency procedures:

Know the location and use of emergency

equipment like eyewash stations, safety
showers, fire extinguishers, and first aid
kits to minimize injuries in emergencies.

Do not eat or drink in the lab:

Consuming food or beverages in the

lab can lead to accidental ingestion of
harmful substances. Keep food and
drinks out of the lab to avoid
contamination.

Keep the lab organized and clean

Always clean your workspace after

experiments to maintain a safe and
functional laboratory environment.

Label all containers

Cl Clearly label all chemical containers with

H their contents and any associated
hazards to avoid confusion and
accidents.

Work in a well-ventilated area

Ensure proper ventilation when working

with chemicals, especially those that
