1 Only persons having valid
licenses should be allowed to
work on electrical facilities
2 All Electrical installations shall
be done as per applicable
statutory codes/standards and
CEA Regulations 2010
3 PMV / Electrical Engineer
prepare SLD for temporary cable
layout and the distribution board
installations. This layout shall
display at the office and the
main DB room.
4 All electrical equipment
operating above 230V shall have
separate and distinct
connections to earth. Proper
earthing to be ensured for all
switchboards and electrical
equipment.
5 All temporary switch boards
suitably protected from rain and
to water logging
6 All Power cables to be properly
terminated using glands and
lugs of proper size and
adequately crimped.
7 Proper sleeves should be
provided at road crossings
temporary cables are to be laid
on wooden poles/steel poles,
minimum cable heights should
be 4.5 m
8 Ensure that temporary cables
are free from cuts, damaged
insulation, kinks or improper
insulated joints
9 All switchboards should be of MS
structure only and incoming
source should be marked
10 Insulating mats shall be
provided in the front and back
end of switchboards. 2mm upto
1.1 KV and 3mm more than
1.1KV to 33 KV.
11 Electrical installations should be
inspected and tested and
recorded
12 All temporary electrical
connection shall be done by
authorized electrician and shall
necessarily have the electrical
license from the concerned
Government authority
13 Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker
(ELCB) shall be provided to all
portable equipment supplies and
a register to be maintained for
its weekly inspection
14 All Electrical Equipment/Systems
used at site for Construction
Power Supply System and
Electrical powering of Electrical
Equipment shall be BIS
stamped/marked
15 Electrical cables of cabling
system of Construction Power
shall be terminated through
double compression cable
glands and crimping type of
cable lugs
16 Minimum depth of cable trench
shall be 750 mm for MV &
control cables and 900 mm for
HV cables. cables shall be laid
over a sand layer and covered
with sand, brick & soil for
ensuring mechanical protection
17 Any Lock out Tag out system is
applicable as per the procedure
applied as per the site work
requirement

18 All the Electrical Inspection
/certification , JSA, Tool Box ,
Training records conducted and
maintained on regular intervals
