Skeleton Practical

Students will work in pairs to create a movable human skeleton that is 30cm in height using rolled paper struts, plastic straws, and recycled materials. Skeleton p ractical 5 - 9 May

• You will be working in pairs.


• You will be making a human skeleton.
• You must design and make it in class.
• All preparation must be done at home.
• The skeleton may not be bigger or smaller than
30cm in height
• The joints must be able to move and bend.
• The ribcage must not be flat, it must be 3D.
• You must make your skeleton out of:

Rolled paper struts OR plastic straws, any recycled materials. You can join them using

split pins OR beads and string.

The skull and pelvis may be printed. No bigger than 5cm each.

• If you use paper struts, you must prepare them at home. About 1O should be enough. Do not
make them too thick. The thickness of a straw is perfect.
• You can use split pins or beads and string to fasten the joints. Beads mlf§t be thicker than the paper
struts/straws.
• Each group must keep their goodies in an ice cream ·tub with their name and class clearly visible.
