Research Paper On Hydroponics.
Research Paper On Hydroponics.
ABSTRACT:
INTRODUCTION:
The statistics and data shows, a aggregate of 2851 growers committed self-murder in 2023 in
Maharashtra. The figures are disturbing and concerning. As of July of 2024, an aggregate of
1267 growers have formerly taken their lives. A significant portion of this strata still practices
traditional husbandry system (further than 90) which is disastrous in results and depends upon
external factors, which are primitive and set to fail. As the global population are shifting towards
urbanization, so shall we. Hydroponics is a system of growing shops in a nutrient-rich water
result, without the use of soil. shops are cultivated in an artificial terrain, frequently outdoors,
where factors like light, temperature, and moisture can be precisely controlled.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Chhail Bihari, Maneesh Kumar, Amit Kumar, Sajeel Ahmad( 2023) has studied “ Soilless
culture, a ultramodern hothouse civilization technology, has fleetly developed in the once 30- 40
times and offers a unrestricted- circle system with several benefits, including the recycling of 85-
90 percent of irrigation water. As the world population continues to grow at a rate of over 1, the
reduction in land vacuity per capita for soil- grounded husbandry has come a major problem,
particularly in countries like India with a high population viscosity. Soilless husbandry offers a
feasible volition for growing high- quality vegetables, fruits, and flowers time- round on a
variety of substrates, taking limited space. This approach also aims to annihilate hothouse soil-
related problems similar as soil- borne infections, poor soil fertility, and saltness. With several
advantages over traditional soil crops, including shorter growth times, time- round product, and
smaller conditions and pests, soilless husbandry comprises colorful styles similar as hydroponics,
aeroponics, and aquaponics. The fashion has the implicit to ameliorate people's lives and boost
profitable growth by encouraging innovative businesses to engage in husbandry. thus, soilless
husbandry has gained traction as an innovative result to address land failure issues while
producing high- quality crops sustainably. ”
Deblina Roy( 2022) has studied “ currently, hydroponic husbandry is veritably trendy because it
gives us organic products. This can be veritably helpful in areas where water is scarce. In
addition, the water can be reused to grow shops. The shops attained from this fashion are rich in
nutrients and free from poisons. preface The word" Hydroponics" is deduced from the words"
hydros" meaning water and" ponos" meaning hard work or work. This is an agrarian fashion
where crops are grown in a nutrient result fully without soil. Soilless husbandry can be defined
as growing of shops in a controlled terrain in different medium other than nutrient rich soil.
Hydroponics is always a soilless system of growing, but not all soilless husbandry styles are
hydroponic styles of growing shops." Hydroponics" is growing shops without soil. The term
soilless husbandry includes all types of soilless growing technology. With soilless growing, the
factory is grown in an inert medium, where the factory receives nothing from the medium. shops
get only what you give them and nothing differently. Have full control over pH, nutrient content,
and nutrient strength. Hydroponic ways are used to identify insufficiency symptoms of colorful
nutrients in shops and to find out which nutrients are essential for factory growth and
development ”
Samikhya Jena, Shyalaja Gangam, Shoiab Adnon, Nagaraju( 2024) showcases “ The adding
global population, combined with urbanization and the rapid-fire decline of pastoralist land,
necessitates innovative agrarian ways to insure food security. Hydroponics, asoil-less civilization
fashion, has surfaced as a sustainable, effective, and productive husbandry system. This system
enables the civilization of high- quality crops in controlled surroundings, offering advantages
similar as reduced resource operation, enhanced yield, and minimized environmental impact.
This review explores the principles of hydroponics, its structural groups, circulating styles,
system conditions, and the variety of crops suitable for this system. It also highlights the
eventuality of hydroponics in addressing unborn agrarian challenges, emphasizing its part in
sustainable and effective husbandry. ”
Kerela Agricultural University (2024) conducted a exploration on “ The global shift towards
urbanization, with 55 of the population abiding in civic areas and an awaited rise to 68 by 2050,
presents challenges to traditional husbandry. The adding world population, further intensifies the
strain on available agrarian land due to civic expansion. Climate change combines with these
issues, make conventional civilization more grueling . Indispensable agrarian practices, similar
as hydroponics, gain significance in addressing these enterprises. sweet and spices have been
used for centuries for their medicinal and culinary parcels. They contain colorful essential
canvases , flavonoids, and other phytochemicals responsible for their distinctive flavour and
aroma, as well as their health benefits. The rising global demand for natural products from
sauces and spices has led to its request growth. Hydroponics, a technology for cultivating shops
in nutrient results with or without an artificial medium similar as beach, clay, vermiculite,
rockwool, peat moss, coir or sawdust, offers a promising result. This paper explores the
eventuality of hydroponic civilization for planting material product, enhancing the yield,
nutritive composition, essential oil painting content and medicinal parcels of colorful spice and
sweet crops, including black pepper, ginger, garlic, coriander, mint, celery, fenugreek, parsley,
thyme, rosemary, green mustard, basil and others. The main challenges in hydroponic production
of these crops include high initial investment, precise monitoring and lack of technical
knowledge. Hence by reviewing recent literature, this paper aims to provide insights into the
classification of hydroponics and its different techniques, benefits and challenges of hydroponic
cultivation, various growing media and nutrient solutions used, types of hydroponics utilized and
their purposes in the production of diverse herbs and spices. Embracing hydroponic techniques
could contribute to sustainable agricultural practices, particularly in urbanized environments
where traditional farming faces constraints.
Research Gap: - The literature review described that the current literature on Impact of traditional
agriculture and modern day demands for adaptiveness to hydroponics and aeroponics. which
leaves scope for a lot of practical and imperative study.
AIM
To introduce better management techniques to execute and develop reliability on modern day
agricultural methods. AIM To adopt Hydroponics as a method and boost the procurement yield
of farmers and relief them from burdens of unguaranteed debts, external factors which may
effect their socioeconomic conditions.
HYPOTHESIS
1. H01: - Hydroponics method significantly affect the agricultural yield, debt structuring,
and socio economic life of the farmers.
H11: - Hydroponics method does not significantly affect the agricultural yield, debt
structuring, and socio economic life of the farmers.
2. H02:- Hydroponics is better and can be adopted by the majority of the farmers of India.
H12: - Hydroponics is not better and cannot be adopted by the majority of the farmers of
India

COST MANAGEMENT
CONCLUSION
This research underscores the potential of hydroponic cultivation in Raigad district, Maharashtra.
By surveying 317 farmers, we determined that a strategic blend of modern management
techniques and a specific bio-fertilizer can significantly enhance crop yields, reduce costs, and
minimize external dependencies. Key differences between traditional and hydroponic farming
include water usage, land requirement, pest and disease control, and yearround production.
Hydroponics offers a sustainable and efficient solution, enabling Raigad to enhance food
security, improve rural livelihoods, and promote environmental conservation. It will surely
eliminate the rising risk of individual suicide and support the plethora of efforts articulating to
agriculture. In conclusion, hydroponics is a viable system that Indians, in specificity Maharashtra
and Raigadh needs to shift from the old lethargic traditional methods
