Population Mean

The document discusses the use of random sampling to assess customer satisfaction at BrewCo, highlighting its role in reducing bias and ensuring diverse representation. It reports an increase in the mean satisfaction score from 7.5 to 8.0 following a new training program, supported by a 95% confidence interval and hypothesis testing results. The analysis emphasizes the importance of standard error and the need for further evaluation through interval estimation and hypothesis testing.

This case we used the random sampling method to select samples, why we

use random sampling:

Random sampling reduces bias by giving every customer an equal chance of
selection, ensuring diverse representation.
This helps BrewCo accurately assess customer satisfaction
Population Mean (7.5): The average satisfaction of population, used to
compare to see if satisfaction improved.
1. Population Standard Deviation (1.2): Measures how satisfaction
scores vary, helping calculate the standard error.
2. Sample Size (n = 100): The number of customers surveyed after the
training
3. Population Size (10,000): help determine if the sample represents
the whole population.
4. Significance Level (5%): This tells us the chance of making a mistake
when rejecting the null hypothesis.
5. Standard Error: Shows how much the sample average may differ
from the population average

This graph reflect the distribution of satisfactions based on the samples

Based on the sample data in the chart, we can make some inferences about
the population. the satisfaction scores of the majority of the sample
are concentrated in the higher range (such as [, it can tell that overall
satisfaction is higher.

However, this is only an inference, and the actual situation may have a certain
deviation, which needs to be evaluated by using interval estimation and
hypothesis testing.

Conclusion
• The new training program improved customer satisfaction, increasing
the mean score from 7.5 to 8.0
• The 95% confidence interval (7.7648, 8.2352) supports this
improvement,
• and the hypothesis test further confirms the results (z = 4.1667 >
1.645).
