LESSON PLAN
K-2005 Indian legal and constitutional 1. To Equip students with in-depth knowledge of various branches of law, including
history constitutional law, criminal law, civil law, and international law.
2. To Develop practical legal skills, including legal research, drafting, advocacy, and
client counseling, through experiential learning opportunities like moot courts and
internships.
3. Students will be able to explore the constitutional development of India, including the position
of native states and the doctrine of paramountcy.
4. To Instill an understanding of professional ethics and the responsibility of legal
practitioners in promoting justice, human rights, and societal welfare.
5. To Prepare students for active participation in legal proceedings through skill
development in oral advocacy, legal argumentation, and procedural law.
Session Duration: 60 minutes
Participants: LLB Students
CO 1-. Students will be able to understand the evolution of legal systems in India from the early charters, judicial reforms, and the
administration of justice under the East India Company.
CO 2- Students will be able to analyze the key judicial reforms and codification processes, including the development of criminal law,
contract law, and personal laws for Hindus and Muslims.
CO 3- . To Foster the ability to critically analyze legal issues, interprets statutes, and apply legal principles effectively in
diverse contexts.
CO 4- Students will be able to examine the legislative milestones in Indian constitutional history, such as the Indian Council Act of 1861
and the Government of India Acts (1909, 1919, 1935).
CO-5- Students will be able to assess the journey towards Indian independence and the framing of the Indian Constitution, leading to the
final transition in 1947.
