learned. Use the informa on on the map below and your knowledge to complete this task.

The Task: Wri ng Direc ons from a Map of Washington, D.C.


This map is a large-scale map of Washington, D.C. It shows streets and landmarks that are found in our na on's capital.

20. Your task is to help someone find the way from the Smithsonian Ins tu on to the Na onal Portrait Gallery.

Step 1: On the map, locate the Smithsonian Ins tu on. Draw a route a person could use to walk from there to the Na onal
Portrait Gallery.
21. Step 2: Use the route you marked to write direc ons for this walk. Write your direc ons using complete sentences. In your
direc ons, be sure to do these four things:
