Job Description
As a Consultant in our Management Consulting team, you will play a key role in providing strategic
guidance and actionable insights to Upstream Oil and Gas clients. Your expertise and experience
will be instrumental in helping our clients make informed decisions, improve their operations, and
navigate the challenges of the industry. You will work on diverse and high-impact projects,
collaborating closely with clients, team members, and industry experts.
Responsibilities:
Client Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their
business goals, and becoming a trusted advisor.
Analysis and Assessment: Conduct in-depth analysis of industry trends, market dynamics, and
client-specific challenges to provide valuable insights and recommendations.
Strategic Planning: Assist clients in formulating and executing strategic plans, including business
development, asset optimization, and risk management strategies.
Operational Improvement: Identify opportunities for operational efficiency, cost reduction, and
process optimization within the Upstream Oil and Gas sector.
Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics and modeling to support decision-making and provide data-
driven recommendations.
Requirements Management: Experience in gathering, identifying, and documenting business
requirement and creating functional specifications for new systems and processes.
Project Management: Lead and coordinate consulting projects, ensuring deliverables are met on
time and within budget.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, leveraging the expertise of other
consultants and industry specialists to address client challenges.
Additional Skills:
Experience in assessing as-is processes, doing gap analysis, creating to-be processes and making
recommendations to implement changes. Experience in using Six Sigma, Lean and other
methodologies to drive continuous process improvement in technology projects.
Technology Project Management including managing technology vendors and client stakeholders.
Manage large projects and programs in a multi-vendor scenario and globally spread team and
deliver the outcome leveraging Agile principle and applying DevOps capabilities.
Experience in Upstream required in one or more of the following:
Exploration
Drilling
Production
Reservoir Engineering
Well Engineering
Geology and Geophysics
Drilling Fluids and Mud Engineering
Production Operations
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
Well Services
Production Facilities
Asset Management
Subsea Engineering
Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR)
Drilling Technology and Equipment
Petroleum Economics
Experience in one or more Upstream related tools and platforms such as Petrel, Eclipse,
Drillworks, WellView et al.
Support pursuits with large Oil & Gas prospects, specifically articulating Infosys’ products, and
services unique value proposition through practical use cases across the value chain
Design and implement leading edge, client-specific solutions, including development of business
case, IT strategy development and tools/software considerations around Digital solutions.
Work closely with client IT teams and business personnel to uncover opportunities and draw
actionable insights.
Involvement in additional internal firm building activities such as knowledge management.
Support sales efforts for new and existing clients in creation of proposals, preparation and
facilitation of sales presentations, plan and participate in client meetings and discussions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Engineering, or related disciplines). A master's
degree is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of one or more digital technologies (Robotic Process Automation, Digital
transformation, Business Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data
technologies, Data Analytics, IoT etc.) and its application in Oil & Gas Industry
Strong knowledge of agile development practices (Scrum), methodologies and tools.
Ability to thoroughly understand complex business and technical issues and influence decision
making at all levels of the organization without formal reporting structure authority.
Excellent teamwork, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
Ability to work as part of a cross-cultural team including flexibility to support multiple time zones
when necessary.
Ability to interact at mid-level managers of clients’ organizations.
Understanding of SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle)
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and to build strong relationships with clients.
