Hello everyone, we gather today, not just as the members of vista, but the people who will

shape this society, starting today itself. I’m aware many of you have applied to various positions
and i’m sure, everyone here would do fantastic, even.

However, today I stand here to present my case. *long pause*

It’s a privilege to speak before you and share why I’d be honored to serve as either the
General Secretary or the Treasurer in the upcoming tenure of 2025-26.

Now, Who am I to waltz on in here and claim y’all should make me the gen sec or the treasurer?

Well, My name is Sneha Chadha, i am a first year economics major and have been a member of
vista since last October. Many of you, who have interacted with me would know that how
passionate i am about photography and also about the contributions that i have made for the
society so far.

Now for those who i haven't interacted with much, well, i have attended several photography
competitions all around the DU circuit and have even won some of them. I have covered
multiple events in our college like the commerce conference, rhapsody, and so on and so forth.

But, this is something i’m sure I would have in common with many of you, however what i want
to stress upon in this speech is why i want to do this.​
​
Vista has been a very special place for me all through this year. I remember joining vista for my
passion for photography but over the past year I have learned so so so much from this society
and vista has given me a space to explore what i actually enjoy and to make great friends along
the way. ​
​
This welcoming space has been shaped by all of you, by the dedication of my fellow members
and the unwavering support of the core team already in place. Why I want to become the
general secretary or the treasurer is very simple to me, I want to give something back to vista
after all it has given me.

Now, talking about my vision for Vista, I aim to encourage more collaborations, more
experimental photoshoots and photowalks to unexplored places. I ensure to promote equal work
distribution across all members and I plan to take responsibility for admin permissions and
maintain open and consistent communication. Apart from that, I will actively participate in
council meetings, and work closely with both the Convener and the Students’ Union.

Moreover, one of the ideas I’m most excited about is initiating Vista’s very own flagship event.
Yes! an exclusive photography-focused event that truly represents who we are as a society.
Alongside that, I’d also love to organise more hands-on workshops and insightful speaker
sessions, so that every member has continuous opportunities to learn, grow, and stay
creatively inspired.

Now, Specifically, as the Treasurer, I will ensure complete financial transparency, maintain
accurate records and coordinate with authorities for timely release of funds. I will also ensure
fair budgeting for all events and keep the council and Convener consistently updated on all
financial matters.

Lastly, I wish to stand at the recruitment desk that will be set up next tenure and invite new
members to join this beautiful society and play the role that my seniors played for me. I wish to
inculcate the same comfortable environment that was present for me during my first year.​

Now, That was frankly all i have written for today. Vista holds a very special place in my heart
and becoming the gen sec or the treasurer would be the highest of honors for me.
