Course Outcomes: Through this course students should be able to

CO1 :: apply advanced excel techniques for effective data analysis

CO2 :: apply conditional formatting for effective data visualization.

CO3 :: create dynamic visualizations to enhance data analysis insights.

CO4 :: integrate functions to derive meaningful analysis from data.

CO5 :: evaluate spreadsheet solutions through macro implementation.

CO6 :: evaluate data transformations and calculations in spreadsheets.

Unit I
Introduction : introduction to ribbon, crtl and alt shortcuts, basic functions, excel add-ins

Pivot tables : create pivot tables, summarize and analyze dataset, filter data, group data,
calculations, aggregate functions, pivot charts
Unit II
Conditional formatting : highlight cell rules, data bars, colour scales, icon sets, colour coding

Unit III
Charts and graphs : column chart, bar chart, line chart, pie chart, donut chart, scatter plot,
sparklines, customs chart elements, trendlines, error bars, secondary axis
Unit IV
Formulas and functions : sum, average, median, mode, mod, text, concatenate, substitute, clean,
trim, len, large, max, min, if, nested if, and, or, countif and countifs, sumif and sumifs, count, lookup,
vlookup (exact and approximate), hlookup (exact and approximate), index, match, isna, iferror
Unit V
Macros : running macros, introduction, write macro, save macro, delete macro

What-If Analysis : scenario manager, goal seek, data tables

Unit VI
Power Query (Get & Transform) : import, transform, clean, combine

Power Pivot : datamodels, analysis and calculations
