Plan of Action of Robo Soccer

The Robo Soccer competition requires teams to design a robot that can navigate an arena, carry a ball, and score goals within specific size and power constraints. Matches will last 4 minutes, with teams competing to score the most goals while adhering to safety and operational rules. Key regulations include no picking up the ball, knockout rounds, and strict safety protocols for battery and robot handling.

PLAN OF ACTION:ROBO SOCCER

Competition overview: Design a wired or wireless robot. This robot must navigate
the arena, carry a ball , and skillfully score by pushing or throwing it into the
opponent's goal post.

Robot design constraint:

Dimensions: The robot must fit within a 30 cm x 30 cm x 20 cm framework.
External Attachment: External attachment during the game (like a kicking
mechanism) is allowed but width of extension should not exceed the width of
robot, in length it must not extend more than 5 cm and should be mechanical only.

Wired robots: Wired robots must maintain the wire length above ground level to
avoid tangling.

Power Source: The maximum allowed battery voltage is 12V DC.

Arena Specification:

Field Dimensions: 8 ft × 6 ft (standard size for college fests; customizable).

Centre circle diameter: 35cm

Goal opening width: 45cm

Goal post height: 12cm

Field Material: Smooth plywood or artificial turf.

Markings: Goal areas, center line, penalty zones with white strip of thickness
2cm.

Goalposts: Fixed-size goals at each end.

Competition Rules:
 The robot has to reach the opponent's goal post with the ball either by
dragging or hitting the ball.
 The aim is to achieve a maximum number of goals ,where picking of the
ball is not allowed.
 There will be a knockout league match between every team and the 7
winner of each match qualifies for the next round.
 Each match will be played for 4 minutes having two halves each of 2
minutes.
 At the beginning of the game, the ball will be positioned at the centre of
the field, and both robots will commence simultaneously, eliminating the
need for a traditional kickoff.
 The team scoring more goals will be selected for the next round
Penalties will be discussed on spot.

Safety Rules:
1. Special care should be taken to protect the on-board batteries and
pneumatics; any robot without proper protection will not be allowed to
compete.
2. There is no amount of regulation that can encompass all the dangers
involved. Please take care to not hurt yourself or others when building,
testing and competing. Any kind of activity (repairing, battery handling,
etc.) which may cause damage to the surroundings during the stay of the
teams in the competition area should not be carried out without the consent
of the organizers. Not following this rule may result in disqualification.

3. Once the robots enter the arena, no team member can enter the arena at any
point of time. In case a fight has to be halted in between and some changes
have to be done in the arena or condition on the robot(s), only the organizers
are authorized to do so.
