INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this study was to see how long it would take a group of students
to type 100 words and then write the exact same 100 words. This investigation
can provide valuable data on how long it takes for a group of students to
complete a writing assignment. This information can be useful for educational
researchers who are interested in understanding the factors that influence student
performance and success.
METHOD OF DATA COLLECTION

To distribute the workload evenly, each member was assigned the task of finding
5 students to collect data on. Participants were asked to visit the electronics lab at
the Jose Marti technical high school During lunch time or after school. The
Tracking method was used to collect data; each student was instructed to start the
stopwatch given to them when they began writing and to stop it when they
finished typing the 100 words, and the same was done for the writing. This
proccess was reapeated for three days until a total of 90 results were collected

Average Time Take to Write Average time Taken to Type Students who Participated
Analysis of Data
The analysis of data on the time taken for students to write and type 100 words reveals that
on average students take longer to type than write. The mean time taken for writing by hand
is 4.647 minutes, with a standard deviation of 0.248 minutes, while the mean time taken for
typing is 5.099 minutes with a standard deviation of 0.237 minutes. A test for independent
samples reveals that the difference in mean writing time between the two modes is
statistically significant, demonstrating that writing is a faster technique of writing 100 words
than typing. Further data analysis may look into aspects like typing speed, handwriting
readability, and familiarity with the writing style. Base of the information on the pie charts
we can conclude that the average writing speed on day 2 was the fastest with a percentage of
32% and an average time of 4.471 minutes. While, the average writing speed on day 1 was
slowest with a percentage of 36% and an average time of 4.997 minutes. In addition, we also
discovered that the average typing speed on day 3 was the fastest with a percentage of 31%
and an average time of 4.802 minutes, While, the average typing speed on day 2 was slowest
with a percentage of 35% and an average time of 5.384 minutes. Base of information on the
bar chart we concluded that majority of students (9/15) time taken to write was faster than
their time taken to type. While, the remaining (6/15) wrote at a lesser time. This further
proves that writing is a better method of noting when it comes
DISCUSSION
Firstly, it's worth noting that typing and writing are two different skills that require different
levels of coordination and muscle movement. In terms of speed, writing was discovered to
be the faster method of noting. According to “The daily princetonian” typing is a faster
method of noting information. But, with the data we’ve collected we have proven that
writing is a faster method of noting information. Base of information on the bar chart we
concluded that majority of students (9/15) time taken to write was faster than their time taken
to type. This further proves that writing is a better method of noting when it comes to the
speed at which you write. Also using the pie charts we discovered a significant difference in
the percentage and speed. With, the writing speed chart showing a lesser writing speed than
the typing chart. Using the table that’s depicts data collected over 3 consecutive days we
found that for the 3 days there was a faster writing speed compared to the typing speed.
CONCLUSION:
To conclude, using data from the table and the bar chart, we discovered that most
students writing time was in the 3:6 minute range, whereas most students' typing
time was in the 3:7 minute area. Finally, we determined that the average time
spent writing is 4.647 minutes, whereas the average time spent typing is 5.099
minutes, proving that writing is the faster way to record 100 words than typing.
