LAYTIME PROBLEMS

CALCULATION OF LAYDAYS

1. A C/P (charter party) provides for 8,575 tons of cargo to be loaded at 1,250
tons per weather working day(SHEX). Laydays are to commence 24 hrs after
written notice has been given by the master to the charterers agent during
office hours on any day (SHEX) that the vessel is ready to receive cargo
whether in berth or not (WIBON). Time is not to count between 1 P.M on
Saturday and 7 A.M Monday, or between 1 P.M on the last working day
preceding a holiday and 7 A.M on the first working day after such holiday.
Demurrage, if incurred, is to be paid @ Pound 2,500 per day and pro-rata and
despatch money at Pound 1,250 per day and pro-rata for all time saved.
Draw up a time-sheet.

Notice was served at 1.30 P..M on Wednesday, 4 th November and loading


commenced at 3 P.M on the same day. Friday 13 th November was a public
holiday. Bad weather prevented work from 9 A.M to 11.30 A.M on 10 th
November and again from 2 P.M to 4 P.M on 18 th November. Loading was
complete and B/L signed at 11.10 A.M on 19 th November. Calculate laydays
and demurrage/despatch.

1 (a) Same example of the above problem can be modified as folloiws

(i) Loading rate at 1000 tons per working day of 24 consecutive


hours(S&H.E).

(ii) 13TH November not a holiday

(iii) Lay days to begin 24 hours after notice of readiness is given or when
loading begins whichever is earlier.

(iv) Loading completed at noon on 13 th November.


Draw up a statement of lay days and calculate the amount of
demurrage or despatch money payable.
2. A vessel of 3,348 N.R.T is chartered for a full cargo to be loaded and
discharged in 14 running days, bunkering time exempted. Laydays are to
commence when the vessel is in the berth and ready to load and discharge
respectively. Demurrage, if incurred is to be paid at 30p per N.R.T per day
and pro-rata and despatch money at half the demurrage rate for all time
saved.
The facts are as follows

Thursday 27th Aug 1030 – vessel arrived at load port


1200 – In berth and ready to load
1345 –Loading commenced
Monday 31st Aug - Declared a public holiday- no work done
Wednesday 2nd Sept . 0600 - Left loading berth for bunkering
0830 – Commenced bunkering
1530 - Completed bunkering
1945 - Made fast in loading berth and resumed loading
Thursday 3rd Sept 1630 - Completed loading – B/L signed
1830 - Sailed from Load port
Sunday – 20th Sept 1115 – Arrived at disport
Monday-21st Sept 0500 – Berthed and ready to discharge
0800 – Commenced discharge
Friday 25th Sept. 1345 - Completed Discharge
1445 - Sailed from disport
DRAW UP STATEMENT OF LAYDAYS and calculate amount of
demurrage/despatch payable.

3. A C/P provides for a vessel to load a full cargo of not less than 11,400 tons
and not exceeding 12,600 tons at the rate of 1500 tons per day (SHEX unless
used). Lay days are to commence 24 hrs after notice of readiness and
charterers stevedores are to be employed at pound 1.75 per ton deadweight.
Demurrage, if incurred, is to be paid at pound 1600 per day and pro-rata and
6 running days are to be allowed for demurrage. Dead freight, if any is to be
paid at pound 16.25 per ton and the vessel is to have a lien on the cargo for
freight, dead freight and demurrage.
Notice was accepted on Tuesday 5 th may at 10.30 A.M and, the charterers
agent agreed with the master’s declaration that the vessels deadweight
capacity was 12,200 tons. Monday 11th May was an official Holiday. Loading
commenced on Thursday 7 th May and cargo was received on board as
follows:
7th May – 1200 tons 12th May – 1500 tons 16th May - 850 tons

8th May – 1145 tons 13th May- 1100 tons 18th May – 1075 tons

9th May – 475 tons 14th May – 960 tons 19th May – 875 tons

11th May – 1050 tons 15th May – 980 tons 20th May – 750 tons

Thereafter, no more cargo was forthcoming. Calculate the amount due to the vessel
by way of demurrage and dead freight, and when the vessel is free to sail with the
incomplete cargo?
4. A charter party provides for 8000t of cargo to be loaded at 250t per workable
hatch per Weather Working Day of 24 consecutive hrs. SHEX. Vessel has five holds
and five hatches, the largest hold capacity being 1750t.

Lay time are to commence 24 hrs. after Notice of Readiness is served. Time is not
to count between 1.00 P.M. Saturday and 7.00 a.m. Monday or between I.00 P.M. on
the last working day preceding a holiday and 7 a.m. on the first working day after
such holiday. Demurrage, if incurred , is to be paid at $6,000/- per day and pro rata
and despatch money at half demurrage rate for all time saved. N.O.R was served at
1.30 P.M. on Wednesday, 4th Nov. loading commenced at 3.00 P.M. on the same
day. Friday, 13th November, was a public Holiday. Bad weather prevented loading
from 11.00 A.M. to 2.30 P.M. as on 12th Nov. and again from 4.00 A.M.P.M. to 4.00
P.M. on 16th Nov. Loading completed at 10.00 am on 18 th Nov.

Prepare a lay time statement and calculate the amount of demurrage or despatch
money payable. (Demurrage $875/-)

5 A mini bulk carrier is chartered to load 30,000 tonnes of coal from Haldia bulk
loading terminal in India at the rate of 9,600 tomes per weather working day of 24
hours. Sundays and holidays excepted. Lay time commences to count 6 hours after
Notice of Readiness is given to the Charterers. Time is not to count between 1 p.m.
on Saturday and 7 a.m. on Monday-, nor between 1 p.m. on the last working day
preceding a holiday and 7 a.m. on the first working day after such a holiday .

Demurrage is to be paid @ Rs.30,000/-per day and pro rata for part of a day.
Despatch @ Rs.18,000/- per day and pro rata for all the time saved.

The vessel arrives berth on Monday , 22 nd October at 0000 hrs. and NOR was given
at the same time. Loading commenced at 1130 hrs. on Monday 22nd October and
completed on Monday 29th October at 2200 hrs. Tuesday 23 rd and 30th October
were public Holidays. The rain stopped work from 1400hrs to 2200 hrs. on
24th October and again from 1000 hrs. to 2300 hrs. on 27th October. Calculate the
amount of demurrage/despatch. (Demurrage: Rs. 72,500/-)

6. A tanker has 23,400 tonnes of oil to load and discharge in 172 running hours.
Bunkering time is excluded. Lay hours to commence 6 hours after N.O.R.is
accepted. N.O.R was accepted at the load port at 1200 hrs. on Friday the 4 th of
May. Work ceased while bunkering from 0730 hrs. to 1230 hrs. on 7th May. Loading
finished at 1600hrs on 8th May. NOR was accepted at the discharge port at 1500 hrs.
on the 18th May and discharging was completed at 1830 hrs. on the 22nd of May.
The demurrage rate is $750/day or pro-rata. Despatch money is not payable.
Freight is due at $3.90 per tonne less 4% insurance. Calculate the amount due to the
ship on completion of discharge.

Ans. : Demurrage 87937.725$


7. A vessel is chartered load 18,000 tonnes of coal at the rate of 6000 Tonnes
per WWD of 24 consecutive hours, SHEX unless used . Times not to count between
2 P.M on Saturday and 8 A.M on Monday nor between 2 P.M on the last working day
proceeding a holiday and 8 A.M on the first working day thereafter. Time for loading
shall commence to count 24 hours after NOR is given to the charterers. Demurrage
is payable at $3200 per day and Pro-rata and dispatch is payable at $1800 per day
and pro-rata for part of the day on all time saved.

The vessel arrives berth on Tuesday 15 th may @ 0800 A.M and NOR is given at
0900hrs on the same day. Loading concerned @ 1 P.M on Tuesday 15th May and
completed on 24th may @ 0900 hrs. 18th May and 23rd May were public holiday but
work was carried out between 9 A.M and 2 P.M on 18 th May calculate the amount
due for demurrage or despatch. At what date and time loading should have been
completed so that there is neither demurrage or despatch?

Ans : despatch : $75

8 A cargo of 10,500 MT is to be loaded at 3,000 MT per WWD 24 consecutive


hours SHEXUU, and, if used half time actually used to count. Lay time to
commence 24 remaining hrs. after NOR tendered and accepted during
official working hrs. WIBON

At loading port time not to count between noon on Saturday and 0800 hrs. on
Monday nor between 1700hrs (noon of Saturday ) on last working day preceding a
legal holiday and 0800 hrs. on first working day thereafter unless used, “if used half
actual time to count “
Cast of shifting at load port to second berth (if used) including fuel, to be for owners
account and time used in shifting not to count as lay time. If vessel is detained longer
than time allowed, demurrage to be paid at RS 46,000/- per day or per rate;
despatch money at half the demurrage rate. Vessel anchored in roads at 0430 hrs.
on Thursday 14th January. Free pratique granted at 0500 hrs. the same day. NOR
tendered and accepted at 1000hrs on 14th January. Vessel left roads at 0330 hrs. on
16th January and made fast at berth at 0630 hrs. on Saturday 16th January. Loading
commenced at 0800 hrs. on 16th January and completed at noon on 18 th January.
Vessel working during excepted periods as follows:
Saturday 0800-1500 1800-2100 2130-2400
Sunday 0000-1030 1400-1800 2000-2400
Monday 0000-0600 0700-1200

Make a lay time statement and calculate the amount of demurrage or

9) .A charter party requires a bulk carrier to discharge into lighters at anchorage
using her own self un-loader A B/L quantity of 76,875 tonnes of Australian coal on
board at the rate of 15,000 t per working day Saturday SHEX, at a maximum of two
anchorage ports in India. Lay time is to commence 12 hours after NOR is received
time from 1400 hrs. on Friday or on the day proceeding a holiday till 0900 hrs. on
Monday or on the day following a holiday, is not to count as lay time . The vessel
arrived Rozi anchorage Thursday 25 th January. NOR was tendered and accepted at
0945 hrs. lighters arrived at 1430 hrs. on 25th January, but, discharge commenced
only at 2000 hrs. on 26th January the lighterage for Rozi was completed at 2330
hrs. on Wednesday 31st January.

The vessel arrived Tuticorin anchorage the second discharge port on Tuesday 06 th
February and NOR was given and accepted at 2200 hrs. the same day. Lighters
arrived at 0630 hrs. the next day and discharge could commence only on 08 th
February at 2330 hrs.
The lay time statement prepared by the master at the end of the discharge, basis
“REVERSIBLE DAYS” showed utilisation of the entire lay time with “NO
DEMURRAGE AND NO DESPATCH” Replicate the masters lay time statement and
from it find out WHEN AND AT WHAT TIME did the vessel COMPLETE HER
DISCHARGE if 26th & 30th JANUARY AND 07th & 08th February were public holidays,
both at ROZI and Tuticorin as well.

Ans. : vessel completed discharge on 16 th February at 1130 hrs.

10. Charter Party provides Lay time for loading six days; Lay time for
discharge three days. Lay time not to count from Noon Saturday till
Midnight Sunday even if used. Demurrage at $ 3,500 per day or pro-
rata. Despatch at half demurrage rate on all time saved. Lay time at
load port commenced on 25 th Nov 1200 hrs. on Monday completed on
29th Nov. 1200 hrs. At discharge port Lay time commence at 1200 hrs.
on Thursday 12 th Dec. Discharging completed at 2400 hrs. on Thursday
19th Dec. Calculate the Demurrage/Despatch in each case.
Ans. Load port Despatch 6125$ Discharge port Demurage 10500$
11) The vessel is chartered to load 8,500 tonnes of iron ore at the rate of
4800 tonnes per weather working day of 24 hrs, Sundays and holidays
exempted. Time not to count between 1 P.M on Saturday and 7 A.M on
Monday nor between 1P.M on the last working day proceeding a holiday
and 7 A.M on first working day thereafter. Time for loading shall
commence to count 24 hrs. after notice of readiness given to charterers.
Demurrage to be paid at the RS 12,000 per day and pro.-rata .Despatch
at RS 7,200 per day prorate for part of the day the vessel arrives berth
on Wednesday 24 th may at 1415 hrs. and notice of readiness given at
1630 hrs. the same day loading commenced at 1700 hrs. on Wednesday
of 24th May and completed on Monday 29th May at 2200hrs. Tuesday
30th May was a public holiday. The weather stopped work from 1000 hrs.
to 1900 hrs. on Friday 26 th may calculate the amount of demurrage
/despatch due.

ANS: DESPATCH RS 10,200/-

12) A vessel N.R.T 3780 tonnes arrives in port at 0600 hrs on


Wednesday 20 th October with 8,600 tonnes coal. Notice of Readiness
was accepted at 0900 hrs. that day charter Party reads “cargo to be
discharged at the average rate of 800 tonnes per WWD SHEX
consignee to pay vessel demurrage at the rate of half a $ per N.R.T
per running day (or pro rata). Time to commence when vessel is
ready to unload and written notice given. Despatch money to be paid
by the vessel at the rate of 0.25$ per NRT per day saved (and pro-
rata)”.
Discharging commenced at 1200 hrs. on 30th October was completed
at 1700hrs on 4 th November. Bad weather stopped work for 6 hrs.
On 28th October and a further4 hrs. On the afternoon of 3 rd
November. The 1st November was declared a public holiday.
Calculate the amount of demurrage or despatch due

ANS: DEMURRAGE 2520$


13) A vessel is to load 900 tonnes of are at the rate of 1500 hrs. per
day. And discharge at the rate of 1000 tonnes per day the vessel
arrives at the loading port on Thursday 25 th April. Notice of Readiness
accepted at 0900 hrs. that day. Lay time to commence 24 hrs. after
NOR is received SHEX.
The vessel commence loading at 1300 hrs. 25th April and completed
at 1400 hrs. on Wednesday 1 st May.
The vessel arrives at to discharging port on Tuesday 14 th May at
1430 hrs. when it was reported to the customs house. Charter Party
states “lay time at discharging port to commence at 8 A.M on the first
working day after the ship has been reported at the customs house “ .
The vessel commence discharge at 1800 hrs. 14th May and
completes discharge at Noon 27th May. Demurrage to be paid at
$800 per day and pro-rata and Despatch at $400 per day and
pro-rata. Calculate the amount of money due to ship owner or
charterer if.

a) The general rule for lay time applies i.e each port is calculated
separately
b) The lay time is “reversible “

c) The lay time is “averaged”

NOTE: lay time calculated for loading and discharging may be


“reversible “in which case the time allowed for each operation to
be added together OR “averaged” where time used for loading and
discharging are calculated separately and the extra time used in
one operation set off against the time saved on the other

14) A vessel is chartered to load 23,600 tonnes of iron ore at the rate
of 4000 tonnes per WWD of 24 hrs. Sundays and Holidays Excepted
Time not to count between 1 P.M Saturday and 7A.M on Monday nor
between 1 P.M on the last working day proceeding a holiday and 7
A.M on the first working day thereafter. Time for loading shall
commence to count 24 hrs. after NOR given to charterer on any day
,except Sundays and holidays ,between 9 A.M and 5 P.M
Time lost in waiting for berth to count as loading time. Demurrage to
be paid at 600$ per day and pro-rata . Despatch at 300 $ per day and
pro-rata for part of the day. The vessel arrives at 1430 hrs. on
Thursday 18 th May and anchorage in the roadstead awaiting the
berth. The vessel leaves the anchorage on Wednesday 24 th May at
0930 hrs. and berths the same day at 1415 hrs. NOR is given at
1530 hrs. and loading commenced at 1600 hrs. The vessel
completed loading on Monday 29 th May at 2230 hrs. Tuesday 30 th
May was a public holiday. The weather stopped work from 1000 hrs.
to 1900 hrs. on Friday 26 th May.
Calculate the amount of Demurrage or Despatch on ATS.

ANS: Despatch 438.75 $

15) The charterer party reads “.... Vessel to discharge cargo at 750
tonnes per WWD, Sundays and Holidays Excepted. Time not to
count from Noon on Saturday or the day previous to such holiday
until 6 A.M on Monday or the day after such holiday, unless used.
The ship loads 9000 tonnes of cargo; Lay time commenced at 8 A.M
on Thursday 22 nd September. The vessel completes discharging at
1600 hrs. on Wednesday 5 th October. Thursday 29 th September was
public holiday. Demurrage to be paid at 600$ per day and pro-rata
and Despatch (ATS) at $300 per day and pro-rata.
State when lay time expires and calculate the amount of Demurrage
and Despatch to be paid

16. A vessel is to discharge at the rate of 800 tons per running day and
freight payable at the rate of pound 1.60 per ton on quantity delivered or
on B/L weight less 2% in lieu of weighing, at receivers option. The
consignee opts not to have the cargo weight out and the B/L were
signed for a total of 6570 tons . 25% of the chartered freight was paid in
advance at the loading port. Demurrage, if incurred, is payable at pound
300 per day and pro-rata and Despatch money is payable at half the
demurrage rate for time saved. Lay days are to commence 24 hours
after Notice of Readiness is accepted or when discharging begins ,
whichever is earlier.

Notice was accepted at 11.30 A.M. on Tuesday 14 th October and


discharging commenced at 4 P.M. on the same day. Work went on
continuously during day and night except for the period from midnight on
Saturday 18 th October until 7 A.M. on Monday , 20 th October, when no
work was done. Discharging was completed at 5.45 P.M. on Tuesday
21st October. Calculate the amount of cash due to the ship at the
disport.

17. A vessel is booked to receive 6000 tons of Cargo. The lay days are
to commence 24hrs after the notice of readiness is handed in. Despatch
money is Pound 250 per day and pro-rata, while demurrage is Pound
350 per day and pro-rata. Work out the implications of each of the
following methods of assessing the lay days, in the circumstances
outlined below:
(a).10 running days

(b).600 tons per weather working day (Sundays and holidays


excepted)
(c).10 days to be allowed(Sundays and holidays excepted unless used)

Notice of Readiness was handed in at Noon on Thursday 27th


December, Tuesday and Wednesday 1st & 2nd January were holidays,
but, Cargo was worked on 2nd January. Work was impossible on 4th
and 9th January because of rain. The loading was completed and B/L
signed at noon on 10th January.
18. A C/P provides for 16 weather days(S&HE)to be allowed for loading
and discharging. Stoppages due to machinery failures are not to count
are part of lay time and Saturday is to count as 3/4 of a lay day. At the
loading port the time used amounted to 10days 4 hours 30 minutes. At
the disport, lay time commenced at 0830 on Tuesday 26th July and
discharging was completed at 1724 hrs. on 4th August. The first
Monday in August was a public holiday. Rain prevented work being done
during 5 1/2 hrs. on 28th July and work at No.4 hatch was suspended for
2 hrs. on 29th July due to winch breakdown. The ship has 5 hatches.
Calculate the demurrage or despatch money payable, if the demurrage
rate is Pound 250 per day and despatch rate is half the demurrage rate.
Ans. Demurrage payable to ship Pound 265.62
19. A tanker voyage C/P provides for the vessel to load and discharge in
120 running hours. Lay time is to commence at both the loading and
discharging ports 6 hrs. after notice of readiness is accepted and, any
time used for bunkering through the loading lines is not to count as a
part of lay hours.
At the loading port, notice was accepted at 10.30 A.M on Friday 9th
September. Loading commenced at 11 A.M on the same day and was
completed at noon on 12th September. 4 1/2 hours were used for
bunkering through loading lines on 10th September.
At the discharging port, notice was accepted at 4 P.M on 21st October
and discharging finished at 9.45 A.M on 25th October. Calculate the
demurrage payable by charterers at Pound 500 per day and pro-rata.

20. A charter party states “ vessel to load in 100 running hours


exclusive of bunker time, Sundays and Holidays, Time not to count from
Noon on Saturday or the day previous to any such holidays, until 6 a.m.
on Monday or the day after such holiday, unless used. Demurrage is to
be paid at $600 per day and pro-rata, Despatch at $300 per day and
pro-rata 30% advance freight is to be paid less 3..5% for insurance and
interest. Freight is to be paid at 8$ per ton”. The vessel is chartered to
load, 17500 tons of cargo. Lay time commences at 8 A.M. on
Wednesday 22 nd March. Friday 24 th and Monday 27 th March were public
holidays. Work ceased at 1700 hrs. on Thursday 23 rd March and
resumed at 0800 hrs. on Tuesday 28 th March. The vessel completed
loading at 1800 hrs. on Friday 31 st March. Calculate the balance due to
the vessel.
Ans: $ 100,045/-
21. A tanker is chartered to load 44000 tons +/- 500 tons of Crude oil,
freight rate 7$ per ton. NOR is to be given in writing, Lay time
commences 6 hrs. after receipt of such notice. The cargo is to be
loaded in 36 running hours; Sundays, Holidays and Saturday after noon
excepted unless used; Weather permitting. Demurrage is to be paid at
$700 per day and pro-rata and Despatch at $350 per day and pro-rata.
Time lost in waiting at anchor for the berth to count as loading time.
The vessel arrives and anchor off the port on Friday 8 th July at 0330 hrs.
The vessel leaves the anchorage at 0600 hrs. on Saturday 9 th July
berthing at 0830 hrs. when NOR is handed in. Loading commences at
1100 hrs. the same day. Loading continues and is completed at 1030
hrs. on Monday 11 th July. The vessel ultimately loads 44,218 tons.
Calculate the amount of demurrage or despatch payable and freight due
to the ship on delivery of the cargo.

Ans.: (a) Demurrage $ 1006.24 (b) Freight $ 309526


22. (a) Cargo to be loaded at the rate of 3000 tons per WWD of 24
consecutive hours. SHEXUU if used, half time to count.
(b) Lay time to commence from 24 running hours after NOR tendered
and accepted WIBON.
(c ) Time shall not count UU between Noon on Saturday and 0800 hrs.
on Monday nor between 1700 hrs. on the last working day preceeding a
holiday and 0800 hrs. on the first working day thereafter. If used, half -
time to count.
(d) Time used for shifting and to count as lay time.
(e) Demurrage at Rs.1,00,000 per running day or pro-rata, if vessel is
detained longer then lay time. Despatch money will be payable to
charterers for all time saved at the rate of half demurrage.
STATEMENT OF FACTS:-
Vessel anchored 0430 hrs. 14th January Thursday.
NOR given/accepted 1000 hrs. 14th January Thursday
Vessel left anchorage 0830 hrs. 16th January Saturday
Made fast a/side 0630 hrs. 16 th January Saturday
Commenced loading 0800 hrs. 16 th January Saturday
Completed Loading 1400 hrs. 18 th January Monday
Number of hatches - 5 ; Cargo to Load - 10500 hrs.
Vessel worked during excepted period as follows:
Saturday : 0800-2400 ; Sunday : 0600-2400 ; Monday : 0600-1400
19th January, Tuesday is a holiday. Calculated demurrage / despatch.

23. Cargo to be shipped at the rate of 3000 tons per day. Loading port
Lay time to commence 24 hrs. after NOR tendered / accepted during
official working hours whether in berth or NOT (WIBON). Time for
shifting to second berth at load port not to count as Lay time. The
demurrage is at Rs. 50,000/- per day or pro-rata despatch at half the
demurrage rate per day or pro-rata.
Vessel anchored 0430 hrs. 14th January Thursday.
NOR tendered 1000 hrs. 14 th January Thursday.
V/L left anchorage 0330 hrs. 18th January Monday.
Made fast 0630 hrs. 18 th January Monday.

25. A vessel of 7656 NRT loads 13280 tons of cargo. Charter party
states “ Vessel to load at 1000 tons per WWD and to discharge at 800
tons per WWD, excluding bunkering time, Sundays and Holidays. Lay
time to commence at 8 A.M. on the first working days following receipt of
NOR for both loading and discharging ports. Demurrage to be paid at
half a $ for NRT and despatch at 0.25 $ per NRT per day and pro-rata
for part of the day.
The vessel arrived at the load port at 1130 hrs. on Monday 8 th August
NOR given at 1200 hrs. the same day. The vessel commenced loading
at 0800 hrs. on Tuesday 9 th August and completed at 2100 hrs. on
Monday 22 nd August. The vessel shifted berth and spent from 1000 hrs.
to 1600 hrs. bunkering on 14 th August. No delay due to weather whilst
loading.
The vessel arrived at the discharging port at 1530 hrs. on Thursday 22 nd
Sept. NOR was handed in at 1600 hrs. The vessel commenced
discharging at 0800 hrs. on Friday 22 nd Sept. and completed
discharging at 1800 hrs. on Friday 7 th October. The weather delayed
discharging for 4 hrs. on Monday 3 rd October and for 2 hrs. 30 minutes
on Wednesday 6 th October.
Calculate the amount of demurrage or despatch due.
Ans.: $ 11,801.48/-

26. A Charter Party states “…… Vessel to load 5600 tons of


concentrates . Time allowed 132 running hours excluding Sundays
and Holidays and being so loaded to proceed.-
“Lay time when loading to commence at 7 A.M. on the first working day
after NOR is received.. Master to permit loading during Sundays,
Holidays and before lay time commences , half such time actually used
to count”. Lay time at discharging port to commence at 8 A.M. on the
first working day after NOR is given. Master to permit discharge on
Sundays Holidays and before lay time commences half such time
actually used to count.”
‘The vessel to discharge at the rate of 800 tons per WWD of 24 hrs,
SHEX’.
‘Demurrage to be paid at 0.5 $ per GRT per day and pro-rata for part of
the day and despatch money at half the demurrage rate’
The vessel of 3760 GRT arrives at the load port and the following is
