District XVI All District Band Event

Thursday, January 30-Saturday, February 1, 2025

Once again, congratulations on being selected for participation in the All District Band
Concert Event! We are looking forward to an excellent few days of music with all of the
students and clinicians as they work toward the culminating concert on Saturday afternoon.

In this document, you will find some reminders and other information concerning the event.
Please check in with your student’s individual Band Director should you have any specific
questions. As a reminder, students are expected to participate in all rehearsals in their
entirety in order to make the concert a success.

Thank you once again for being an important part of our music community and for
supporting your child’s musical endeavors!

Student Drop Off

Students should be dropped off at least 15 minutes prior to the listed start of rehearsal if
they are being dropped by a parent at the event site (Belmont Ridge/Riverside). This will
allow them ample time to get checked in, unpack, and find their places.

Belmont Ridge Middle School

Members of the Middle School Concert Band and Middle School Symphonic Band should be
dropped off at Belmont Ridge Middle School on Thursday and Friday. They will also be
picked up from this location on those days. Parents should drop students off in the bus loop
(see map below). Students will proceed into the building and check in to receive their name
badge lanyard. Belongings and cases will be kept in the auditorium during rehearsals.
Riverside High School

Members of the High School Concert Band and High School Symphonic Band should be
dropped off at Riverside High School on Thursday and Friday. Students being dropped off
by a parent should use the student drop off/kiss and ride loop. Any student driving
themselves and parking should park in the student parking lot. Please avoid any “painted”
parking spots, as these are reserved by Riverside students with parking passes. Please see
the map below.

All Middle School and High School Musicians should be dropped off at Riverside High
School using the student drop off/kiss and ride loop on Saturday. Students enter
through the Main Entrance.

Students will proceed into the building and check in to receive their name badge lanyard.
Belongings and cases will be kept in the auditorium during rehearsals.

School Maps
Belmont Ridge Middle School and Riverside High School are co-located on the same
campus. As you proceed to your designated locations, the maps below should hopefully
help you. As you come to the campus, there are three opportunities to turn left.

To access Belmont Ridge Middle School’s Drop Off Line, you should take the first left and
then follow the Kiss and Ride drop off signs. Parents picking students up can park in the
parking lot on the left of Belmont Ridge, or wait in the line. Students will walk around the
front of the school and enter through the main entrance.

To access Riverside High School’s Drop Off Line and Parking Lot, you should proceed
beyond the school sign on the left and head toward the roundabout. Take the second
roundabout exit toward the Stadium to follow Charlena Beth Drive, then take a left at the
stop sign. If you are dropping off, proceed into the Kiss and Ride lane. If you are parking,
take a left into the parking lot. Teachers and staff can park in the first row of parking
(indicated by the blue rectangle) and students/visitors should park in the un-painted spots
of the parking lot (indicated by the general location of the red rectangle).

Both school entrances are marked with a gold star on the map on the next page.
Student Check-In
Students will receive their name badge lanyards at check-in. These should be worn
throughout the event so that you can be recognized as a participating student during the
event. It will also help our clinicians get to know you!

Student Meals
Students should bring a bagged lunch for both Friday lunch and Saturday lunch. Students
are not permitted to Doordash/order lunch items to themselves for delivery, nor are
they permitted to travel off campus.

Concert Attire
Students should bring their concert attire with them on Saturday to rehearsal. There will be
time provided to change into concert clothes following lunch on Saturday. Individual School
Band Directors will be able to provide guidance to their students as to what they are
expected to wear for their concert performance.
Concert Recording
We are pleased to provide a professional digital recording of this event, thanks to Luke
Denton with Media Cure Productions! You will receive your own copy once processing has
been completed. Feel free to sit back and enjoy the concert without feeling the need to
record on your own device!

General Policies and Procedures

As a reminder, you are all here representing your school and this event is a privilege to be a
part of. Although VBODA is not part of LCPS, we are using an LCPS facility and most of the
students participating attend LCPS – the same rules apply here, particularly with cell
phones/mobile devices. Please ensure that these are off and away during rehearsal so as
to provide the best experience possible for rehearsals.
