PUNGANUR.

All the students, staff, NCC cadets and NSS volunteers are
informed that the NSS is going to organize a tree plantation programme in
the college on 21- 04-22. Hence all are requested to attend and make it a
grand success.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME:


STUDENTS WILL LEARN,

 Planting trees contributes to the preservation of biodiversity.


 Trees absorb carbon dioxide helping to mitigate climate change by
acting as carbon sinks.

 Tree Plantations offer students a practical, hands-on learning


experience in environmental promotion, forestry and related fields.

 Students can learn about the role of trees in ecosystems, including


their impact on overall environmental balance.
 Tree Plantation fosters an understanding in the promotion of
balanced ecosystem.
REPORT OF THE PROGRAMME
On 21-04-22 Dr T Srinivas NSS programme officer and Sri S Saravana,
CTO NCC has conducted and led tree plantation programme in the campus.
NSS volunteers, NCC cadets and students have participated in the
programme with the sole aim to plant trees and protect them. NCC cadets
were headed and led by a teacher and a student leader. The students have
worked hard and planted different plants besides the arts block and their
efforts received heartfelt acclaims and appreciations from the teachers,
students and society especially from the principal. At the end refreshments
were served to all the participants. Thus, the programme ended on a grand
note. The program not only contributed to the greening of the college campus
but also instilled a sense of environmental responsibility among the
participants.

OUTCOMES OF THE PROGRAMME:

 The most direct outcome is the increase in the number of trees,


contributing to greater green cover on the college campus and
surrounding areas.
 The planted trees provide habitats for various species, promoting
biodiversity and ecological balance.
 Students gain practical experience in tree planting, fostering a
deeper understanding of environmental science, biology, and
forestry concepts.
 Students develop a sense of ownership and pride in contributing to
the beautification and environmental health of their college and
local community.


 The programme raises awareness among students and the
community about the importance of trees in environmental
sustainability.
