EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
1.0 BUSINESS DESCRIPTION
The name of the business is SHIUNDU’S FISH ENTERPRISE located in Kakamega County,
Malava sub-county. Major activities will be production, processing and selling of fish. The major
objective of the business will be provision of fish meat to the society to balance their diet with
proteins. Other objectives will be to earn income from the business and create employment to the
youths in the society.
The business is intending to market the business through advertisements, free delivery and giving
discounts to the customers for the first three months.
2.0 MARKET PLAN
By identification of customers’ strategies, sale strategies and customer service strategies.
The business customers are individuals like farmers, friends and tourists, Institutions like schools
and hospitals.
The competition will be overcame by through production of high quality products and offering
after sell services.
3.0 ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT
The business will be managed by the General Manager and he/ she will be responsible for
controlling all the activities of the Business. Also the business will employ other employees to
assist with running the business. These will include the cleaners who will be taking care of
Housekeeping around the fish ponds, the other employees will include the processing and
packaging staff and also the Distribution and marketing team.
4.0 OPERATIONAL PLAN
The business will require fridge foe the preservation, fishing nets for harvesting and fish troughs
for temporary holding of the fish.
5.0 FINANCIAL PLAN
This is the financial requirement of the Business ventures. It also proposes the sources and uses
of the funds. It is contained in the proforma income statement, balance sheet, projected cash flow
statement and Liquidity ratio.

producer of fish since it will be getting them from its fish pond and will be sold in the local

The products to be offered mainly is fresh fish from the fish ponds, fingerlings and processed
fish meat.

Type: The type of fish sold will be Tilapia which is most liked by the local people.
Quality and Quantity: The business will strive to sell mature fish which is six months old and
processed fish meat ready to consume by the customers.
1.7 JUSTIFICATION OF OPPORTUNITY.
There are various factors favoring the choice of this business opportunity. These factors include.
 Availability of skills in fish production.
 Good ecological condition as my farm has good slopes are nearest to water sources.
 Availability of ready market.
 Availability of capital.
 There are few needs to be satisfied by the business.
 Unsatisfied local demand. The locals will purchase the fish and fish meat from the farm
and this will enable the local from being able to I’ve word they really need.
 The important protein required by the local will come from the fish meat.

By business belong to the agricultural industry. The farm is a medium size given the fact that
most of the fish produced at a small. My points which cannot accommodate large number of fish
to serve there international market.
Last technology supplied thus making it labour intensive as the area is not well developed.
I will employ a very few employees as there are no complex activities to be carried out.

The businesses aim at producing good quality fish, finger links and fish meat to the local people
who need each to balance their bed.

Entry strategy the business will have a licence that will enable its smooth running. This cell
enable it to have the requirement as per the government rules and regulations. By identifying my
competitors strength and weakness will be my advantage to take an opportunity before they take
it the steady production of fish will help to avoid the inconvenience thus making the business
competitive.
