Assessments

Assignments
You will use the Assignment Submission Folders to upload and submit assignments to your
instructor online. You will see a list outlining the folders available, as well as submission and
feedback information. This is the area in which your instructor retrieves your submitted files,
grades them and gives you feedback which is then viewable.
File Requirements
Each course will have specific requirements for submission of file(s), such as:
• Number of submissions allowed.
• Number of files allowed.
• How assignments are named (for example: Assign1Joan SmithIBA.docx).
• Formatting: spacing (double or single-spaced), font sizes, number of words, etc.
• File types (MS Word, Excel or PDF documents).

You must retain a copy of each assignment. If you make any mistakes and submit the wrong
file(s), please contact Program Staff immediately.

Please pay attention to the specific instructions given in your

course on submission requirements for each assignment.

Some courses have the submission box built right into the content.

Viewing Feedback and Grades

Assignment Folders are divided into four categories: Score, Submissions, Feedback and Due
Dates which are explained below.

Score: If your Assignment submission is a graded assignment you will receive your grade here.
This will remain blank until your Instructor grades your submission.

Submissions: This area will show you how many submissions you have made to this folder. If
you click the number, you will be taken to your Submission History to view details of the
submissions.

Feedback: If your Instructor has left Feedback in the Assignment submission,

you will be able to view it. Simply click the blue hyperlinked text that says View
and you will be taken to the View Feedback page. Check for attached files
under the box that contains the written feedback, as your instructor may insert
additional feedback and comments directly into the document you uploaded.

Due Date: This column lists the date by which you should submit your files.

Quizzes
The Quizzes tool is primarily used to complete quizzes, mid-terms and exams online and is not
used for all courses.
Click Quizzes from within the specific content area or from the Assessments dropdown
menu.
