Admission requirements
Undergraduate degree (at least 180 ECTS) Good proficiency in English

• Computer science • TOEFL iBT, min. score 93


• Software engineering • IELTS Academic, min. overall
• Equivalent subject score 6,5 and individual score 6
• Exception criteria with degree

Participation costs from Intake 5

Participation costs of 9 000 € / academic year

Participation cost includes


• Tuition fees (including courses, exams, academic supervision, university support
services, orientation)
• Insurance (health and accident)
• Winter school participation (travel and accommodation costs)

Application schedule
• The application opened on 01.11.2024 at 8 am Finnish time
• The application will be open until 08.01.2025 at 3 pm Finnish time
• The deadline to update enclosures to submitted application 15.01.2025 at 3 pm
Finnish time
• Allocate time to upload your enclosures! Uploading your video might take a lot of time!

On the application form, applicants should state their interest to also be considered
as self-funded applicants.
Admission schedule
• Admission results by March 2025
• Students awarded an EDISS scholarship will have 14 days to accept the offer
• Students admitted as self-funded will be on the waiting list for a scholarship and have 30 days
to accept the offer
• Students accepting a place as self-funded will stay on the waiting list for the EDISS scholarship
• Deadline to send documents (degree and transcripts, translations) for
conditionally admitted students: 25.07.2025
• Apply only to students that didn’t graduate by the application deadline
• Verification of original documents: upon arrival in Finland from August 2025
• For admitted students only
• Start of the studies at Åbo Akademi University in August 2025
