General Rules

Bracket

Depending on the number of entrants, there will be multiple pools of Round Robin brackets, with
the top 2 players of each bracket fighting in a traditional bracket (no loser’s bracket). Each game
will be a best of 3, and players will keep track of the score of each set.

Open Team Sheets

Players will submit their team to one of the TOs, and the TO will verify and post all the teams in
the Team Submissions discord channel, for all players to see those teams. The team sheets
must show the partner character as well as each team member’s stickers in the correct order,
but the tape order can be changed between battles.

Host Priority

In Cassette Beasts, the player who sends the battle invite always has their tapes move first
before the first turn of battle (entry effects and whatnot). Due to this, a coin flip is required before
every set, and the winner of the coin flip decides whether they are hosting the battle or not. The
loser of each game decides who is hosting as well. Players usually either use Carl-bot’s built in
coinflip on discord (/fun coinflip) or use google’s coinflip feature and provide a screenshot.

Battle Rules

Level 200, fusion enabled (no fusion power), duplicate stickers disabled for each tape, attributes
disabled, no duplicate tapes (with the exception of Binvader and Binterloper).

Endless Battle Clause

If 20 turns pass with no broken tapes, the game is not counted and the players will redo the
game. Abusing this will result in further action from the TOs

Disconnects, Desyncs, and Bugs

If the game is disconnected, a desync happens, or if a known bug occurs, the game will not
count and players will redo the match. Abusing this will result in further action from the TOs
Sticker Bans
Gambit

An omniboost that doubles every stat is simply too strong, even if just for 3 turns

Critical Mass

Enables a lot of spammable strats and lots of free buffs once Evasion Nullified is applied to the
enemy team

Pre-Emptive Strike

Too spammable, can be used with switching and/or crossfade for a lot of free damage, no
consistent counterplay

Nurse

Banned because it is annoying to play around, can be abused with Custom Starter, and was too
strong with Fusion

Move-Targeting Passive + Change the Record

The following passive stickers cannot be activated to use Change the Record: Automation,
Chemical Imbalance, Critical Mass, Custom Starter, Random Starter, Roll Again, Tripwire.
Change the Record is too annoying and potentially broken with certain setups, so this is banned

Annoying Status

The following statuses apply extremely detrimental statuses too easily, and are therefore
banned: Vengeful Curse, Bad Forecast, Taunt, Snooze Spore, Stony Look, Hypnotise,
Moonshine. Trick

Call for Help

Call for help has a lot of issues including picking places to battle for the spawns, the extra ally
having illegal moves, and just generally being too complex to make a bunch of rules around it,
so it is banned to keep the rules less complicated than they already are
Tower Defence

Tower Defense while being a perfectly balanced move, seems to consistently crash the game as
of the 1.8 version of the game, so it will stay banned until these issues are fixed
