1. Introduction
This report is about Virat Kohli, one of the most successful and passionate cricketers in the
world. His full name is Virat Kohli, and he is known for his aggressive playing style,
leadership qualities, and consistent performance for India in all formats of the game. He
continues to inspire millions with his dedication and achievements.

2. Early Life and Education

Virat Kohli was born on November 5, 1988, in Delhi, India. His father, Prem Kohli, was a
criminal lawyer, and his mother, Saroj Kohli, is a housewife. Virat started playing cricket at
the age of 9 and joined the West Delhi Cricket Academy. He completed his schooling at
Vishal Bharti Public School and later attended St. Sofia School in Delhi, but his focus
remained on cricket from a young age.

3. Contribution (Cricket Career, Achievements, Leadership Role)

Virat Kohli came into the limelight after leading India to victory in the 2008 U-19 World
Cup. He made his international debut in 2008 against Sri Lanka and became a regular
member of the team, proving himself in Tests, ODIs, and T20s. Kohli was made the captain
of the Indian team in all three formats after MS Dhoni's retirement. Under his captaincy,
India achieved many milestones, including winning overseas Test series, such as the historic
Test series win in Australia in 2018-19. He led India to the No. 1 Test ranking and
introduced a fitness-first culture in the team, mentoring young talents and building a strong
future squad. Even after stepping down from captaincy in 2022, he remains a leader by
example. Kohli has scored over 75 international centuries (as of 2024) and holds records
like the fastest to reach 8,000, 9,000, and 10,000 ODI runs, as well as the fastest century in
ODIs by an Indian. He has won prestigious awards like ICC Cricketer of the Year, Padma
Shri, and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna.

4. Challenges of Daily Life

Kohli has faced challenges like the pressure of consistent performance under high
expectations. Early in his career, he struggled with inconsistency, but he worked hard to
improve. The loss of his father in 2006 was a major personal setback, yet it motivated him
to pursue cricket with more determination. He also deals with intense media scrutiny as a
public figure.

5. Perception of World
Kohli believes in discipline, hard work, and leading by example. He has spoken about the
importance of mental health and maintaining balance in life. He values giving back to
society, as seen through his charitable efforts, and sees fitness as a lifestyle, not just a
requirement for cricket.

6. Book
Virat Kohli has not authored a book, but he has been featured in Driven: The Virat Kohli
Story by Vijay Lokapally, which details his journey from a young cricketer to a global icon.

as of May 2025. His fame extends beyond cricket, making him a youth icon and a trendsetter
in fitness and fashion.

Kohli endorses brands like Puma, Audi, MRF, and MPL, earning millions annually. He co-
owns Wrogn, an athleisure brand, and One8, a fitness and lifestyle brand that includes
apparel, footwear, and gyms. His brand value is estimated at over $200 million, making him
one of India’s most marketable athletes.

dreams with dedication. Through the Virat Kohli Foundation, he supports underprivileged
children by providing scholarships, sports training, and healthcare initiatives. His emphasis
