Executive Summary
An Environmental Inspection was conducted for 158 Infill Plots project, on 28th April 2025 during
11:00 am to 1:00 pm. It was conducted and accompanied by an ALDAR Environmental Consultant,
KBR Environmental & Sustainability Manager, KBR OSH Manager, KA OSH Engineer and NPC OSH
Manager and OSH Officer.
Project site activity areas and Waste Management, First Aid Facility and Chemical Store were
inspected for 158 Infill Plots project at Al Falah.

Five observations were issued and raised to KBR, WBG and NPC for immediate corrective and
preventive action.
All corrective and preventive actions must be closed and submitted by 8th May -2025

Observation-1:
1.1 During the inspection noticed large spillages at diesel
generators unattended, no spill-kits provided, and other
spill-kits used for site trash.
1.2 Chemical drums stored with improper bunding with no
spill trays inside hazardous store.

Action (s) to be taken (but not limited to):


1. To avoid significant environmental impact, oil spills must
be cleaned up as soon as possible. Spill-Kit with checklist
must be arranged for diesel generator area as part of spill
prevention.
2. Fuel storage, handling & decanting safe work procedure NPC
1 B
must be given to authorized drivers, fuel maintenance KA/KBR
personnel to prevent any spillage and handling.
3. Secondary containment be provided for multiple
containers must be of 110% of the largest of container at
oil storage & maintenance workshops. Used waste fuel or
other waste chemicals shall be stored in a proper bunded
area until collected for offsite disposal by an approved
waste contractor.

Observation-2:
Noticed leakages at Septic portable tanks leading to ground
2 contamination, also Suction hose pipe used for transfer of
sewage waste for disposal found uncovered placed on bare
soil.

Action (s) to be taken (but not limited to):


1. Regular inspection and maintenance to be done to
prevent any overflow or leakages in sewage plumbing
connections and maintain clean surrounding towards the NPC
toilet facility areas. KA/KBR B
2. Adequate measures to be taken as best practices to
prevent soil contamination during sanitary washout
activity. Runover water flowing from toilets to be
controlled and limit the unnecessary water usage.
Provide endcap or plastic cover to sewage suction hose
pipe end.

Observation-3:
During site inspection found unsegregated waste and food
waste collected on bare soil without environmental
3 preventive measures. Waste skips with no signages and no
safety barricades on site.

Action (s) to be taken (but not limited to):


1. Dedicated Construction Waste Management Plan to be in
place as part of CEMP & maintain waste log register.
2. Construction wastes must be segregated and collected in
separated skips to prevent mixed waste accumulations,

prompt reuse, and recycle initiatives to prevent any legal

provided for waste segregation and collection as per NPC B

3. Waste shall be stored for the minimum time possible, and
all skips shall be colour coded and labelled clearly with
multi-lingual writing signages and barricaded.
4. All food wastes and organic wastes to be collected and
disposed separately in Tadweer approved colour coded
skip to prevent any contamination. Food waste to be
permanently covered to deter scavengers and prevent
the odour.

Observation Category: Soil & Water Contamination

Risk Category: High

Observation-4:
Noticed large quantity of cementitious mortar dumped on
bare soil leading to contamination. Also, kerb-cutting
cementitious wastewater not proper collected or disposed.

Action (s) to be taken (but not limited to):
1. Cementitious or mortar mix to be stored off-ground on
permeable surface or use mixing-trays to prevent the
contamination by mixing with soil.
2. Demolition waste / concrete waste to be collected only at
NPC
designated waste collection area with proper signages A

achieved as per requirement.

3. Hazardous liquid waste or contaminated wastewater


shall be treated as hazardous wastes and disposed of
accordingly.

Observation Category: Dust Control & Hazardous Waste Disposal

Risk Category: High

Observation-5:
5.1 Observed large dust generated on internal logistic roads
whereas project has residential area nearby the work
site.
5.2 At Medical First-Aid facility observed medical waste is
being generated and collected in separate skips as per
requirements, but no ESP contract or disposal records
available by project team.

Action (s) to be taken (but not limited to):


1. Water sprinkling/dust suppression must be performed on
5 a regular basis to prevent or reduce dust generation near
the entrance and sensitive receptors. Project team can
establish stabilized construction entrances and exits to
reduce or eliminate the tracking of sediment onto public
rights of way or streets. This will help prevent sediments NPC
from construction activities. A

2. Tadweer approved medical waste contractor must be
appointed and approved for infectious waste collection
from medical waste at First-Aid facility.
3. Biomedical disposals to be done as per Tadweer
requirements. Biomedical disposal records mentioning
the project details to be maintained at site.
