“English without a teacher
with
only 15 verbs and less
1000 words”
You will be amazed how the 15 basic verbs will help you learn to
communicate correctly and start conversations with English
speakers. We have selected the words and verbs most used during
the day and most used in everyday conversations; That is, the book
contains the vocabulary that you really need to learn and that you will
use in every conversation you want to have. In every language there
are necessary words and unnecessary words. Someone may
wonder, how is it possible to speak English with only 15 verbs?
These 15 verbs were chosen and studied scientifically, they will be
the fundamental basis of your learning for this language. Now you
will learn more verbs so that you continue studying and according to
your daily needs.
Many people try to learn the English language and despite so much
effort and time, they end up disappointed at not being able to make
a small conversation. This happens because many courses or books
focus on teaching English as a first language and also in small
portions. of very specific knowledge, to having to learn vocabulary or
phrases without association and not knowing how to create more
phrases or sentences. In order to obtain different results, we have to
change the strategy of learning the English language.
The secret of this book is that English is taught from the point of view
of someone who has learned English, from their own experience, as
a second language, not as someone who only has the idea that you
will learn English as you imagine. . You will learn to speak this
language through the cumulative knowledge method, as a second
language, in which you will learn a list of everyday or the most basic
words, verbs and grammar and you will increase your vocabulary so
that you advance in each lesson of the book, You will also learn how
to create questions and answer them.
This book is aimed at children, young people and the most adult
person who knows how to read. If you know how to read in Spanish,
this book is for you, because you can learn the English language. It
is highly recommended for use as a teaching instrument in schools
and for private instructors.
Part II : In this part you will learn to use other fundamental verbs in
everyday conversations, to use prepositions, personal, possessive
and reflexive pronouns well. You will learn numbers, telling time,
contractions, and comparatives in English.
3. Do not move on to the next lesson if you have not yet mastered
the first one 100%, remember that this book is cumulative knowledge:
the words, verbs and grammar that you will learn in the first lesson,
you will continue to use as you advance. If you have not learned the
first lessons well, it may be difficult for you to understand or learn the
following lessons.
EVERYDAY WORDS
Learn this group of words by heart, taking special care when
pronouncing the English terms, to mark the accents well and to
phoneticize the capital letters of our figurative pronunciation as with a
barely perceptible sound. In this lesson you will realize that there are
many words or vocabulary to learn, it is because they will be the
foundation or foundation of your learning and we also have to have
enough vocabulary to be able to start speaking in English.
THE NOUNS
Learning English nouns is very important because its structure is
used in all daily conversations. Nouns are essential to form sentences
or phrases.
Learn the following nouns by heart:
So with these examples you will know how to form the plural of
nouns from now on; However, there are some exceptions to this rule
that we will learn about in the next few lessons.
THE ADJECTIVES
Adjectives in English are invariable: they are exactly the same for
singular and plural, feminine or masculine. This will save you a lot of
effort in memorizing the adjectives.
A white suit.
PERSONAL PRONOUNS
In English, pronouns are not omitted (I, you, he, she, it, we, they) as
in Spanish. For example: “I am in my house” in Spanish literally
translated would be: “I am in my house”, but how can you omit the
pronouns in Spanish (I, him, she, you, us, them, etc.) then The phrase
can be as follows: “I am at home.” We want you to learn practical,
well-translated English, so you will notice that we will not use literal
translations in the example sentences or phrases in this book.
I (ay) = I
You (yúu) = You, you, you,
He (jii) = He
She *(Shíi) = She
Note: *we clarify that the pronunciation of “SH” is like the sound in
the word shampoo or Washington. “He” means he and “she” means
she when talking about people and the word “it” means it, him or her
when we refer to things. The use of “it” will be essential in learning
English, but it will become familiar as we move forward.
I am (am) = I am or I am
You are (ar) = You are or are
He is (is) = He is or is
She is = She is or is
It is = It is or is
We are = We are or are
You are = You are or are
They are = They are or are
Practice the following out loud:
You are late.
You guys are late.
This flower is yellow.
This flower is yellow.
He is my brother.
He's my brother.
He is in the garden.
He is in the garden.
He is working.
He is working.
He is my son.
He is my son.
He is working.
He is working.
The answers to the questions in English are also so simple that you
can create them yourself. For this, it is important to know that the
words are used a lot: YES, NO and NOT.
Is he working?
Is he working?
-Yes, he is working.
-Yes, he is working.
QUESTION IN ENGLISH
You can ask questions in English as well as in Spanish with the
following words: what, how, where, when, why, etc.
QUE:
The word What (wat) means what and is used in the same way as in
Spanish.
What are you doing?
What are you doing?
-Nothing.
-Nothing.
To ask the age in English you say: Howold are you? In this case the
word “old” (old) which means old has another meaning which would
be age in Spanish. How old are you? then it would be in Spanish:
How old are you? When answering this question, we usually use
“years old" (yíirs old) which in Spanish means "years", but if we
translate it literally it would be: years old.
When is he coming?
When comes?
-In two days.
-In two days.
WHERE:
The word Where (werr) means “where”.
Where is my money?
Where is my money?
-It is in your room.
-He's in his bedroom.
Where is my apple?
Where is my apple?
-It is in my room.
-It's in my bedroom.
WHY
The word Why (way) means “Why?”, and is usually answered by the
word because (bicóz) which means “because”.
Americans also use a synonym for “why” which is “How come?”
(jawcam) which means exactly the same: “Why?” Examples:
Why are you going there?
Why do you go there?
-Because I work there.
-Because I work there.
Note: “Woke up” is the past tense of “wake up”, which means to
wake up. Later we will learn the past tense of everyday verbs.
WHICH:
The word Which (wich) is widely used in English and means which,
which, which, which, which, which, which. That is, for so many words
in Spanish you will only need to learn one in English to be able to ask
questions with “Which”.
Which is my plate?
What is my plate?
-It is the small one.
-He's the little one.
Note: The word “one” (wan) means “one” in Spanish. Americans use
“one” (wan) a lot in some expressions to show greater accent,
importance to a thing and for grammatical reasons, although in reality
it does not have a meaning in the sentence or phrase. For example:
It is the small one . If you notice, one is usually used after an adjective
(yellow, small, big, beautiful, etc.) or when asking questions with
which.
QUIEN:
WHO (juu) means who, who.
Who is that?
Who is that?
-It is my brother.
-He's my brother.
Quien eres?
Who are you?
-I am your friend.
-I am his friend.
SELF APPRAISAL
The idea of this book is: once you have learned the words, the
verbs, the grammar and how to ask questions and answers; The
next thing is for you to apply this knowledge so that you actually
learn to speak English. If you do not act or apply what you learn,
there will be no progress in your learning.
2. Next we will take some sentences and turn them into questions
and answer them. Examples:
The baby is walking.
The baby is walking.
Is the baby walking?
Is the baby walking?
-Yes, the baby is walking.
-Yes, the baby is walking.
In the same way as the previous example, you will take each of the
following sentences to form questions and answer them at the same
time. For this, it is recommended that you use a notebook that is
specifically for this purpose of learning English.
He is a kind man.
He is a kind man.
That's my hat.
That's my hat.
3. Create 10 questions with “IS and ARE” and also using “what, how,
when, where, etc”. These 10 questions have to be questions that you
use every day of your life and they have to be created according to
your needs. Once the questions are created, you will have to answer
them in English, also according to your needs. You can use your
notes if you wish.
Note: If you had difficulty reading the short Reading, creating the
questions and answering them, that means that you are not ready to
move on to the next lesson, please review the entire first lesson and
focus your time on the parts where you have difficulty. Remember
that the more you repeat things, the more you will remember them.
SECOND LESSON
I know you want to learn to speak English and here you have the
opportunity, because with a little time you can learn and never forget
the reason why you want to study this book, always think about the
person you will become when you finish studying the book . Never
use excuses not to study; It's time to do, to act, read and study this
book as if your life depended on it.
EVERYDAY WORDS
When the pronunciations of some words are no longer given, it is
because they were already given and you can review the previous
lesson; That's why we don't let you move on to the next lesson if you
haven't mastered it 100% yet.
Note: There is an exception to this rule, when the letter before the
“y” is a vowel, the same general rule of adding an “s” is followed.
For example:
Day (déy) = Day
Days (déys) = Days
Boy (bóy) = Child
Boys (boys) = Children
WEEKDAYS
Monday (mandEy) = Monday
Tuesday (tiúsdEy) = Tuesday
Wednesday (WénsdEy) = Wednesday
Thursday (ZzérsdEy) = Thursday
Friday (fráydEy) = Friday
Saturday (sáterdEy or saredEy) = Saturday
Sunday (sándEy) = Sunday
EVERYDAY VERBS
Everyday English has only 15 verbs. Since we focus your effort on
what really matters and what you will use. In other systems, you
must study more than a thousand verbs and thousands of words.
Remember that with this book you only need to learn 15
fundamental verbs that are used in daily life, less than a thousand
words to be able to speak English correctly.
The best way to learn a language is constant REPETITION AND
PERSEVERANCE of doing it every day.
The word “to” placed in front of a verb indicates that it is in the
infinitive mood, such as: to come (come); to go (go).
To do (tu dú) = Do
Doing (du-ing) = Doing
To come (tu cam) = Come
Coming (earning) = Coming
To give (tu guív) = Give
Giving (guiving) = Giving
To go (tu góU) = Go
Going = Going
To make (tu méyk) = To make
Making (méyking) = Making
To say (tu séy) = To say
Saying (séying) = Saying
To see (your sii) = See
Seeing = Seeing
To take (tutéyk) = To take or carry
Taking (téyking) = Taking or carrying
To get (tu guét) = Get, obtain, arrive
Getting (guéting) = Getting, obtaining, arriving
To keep (tu kíip) = Maintain
Keeping (kiiping) = Maintaining
To put (tu put) = Put
Putting (púting) = Putting
To let (tu let) = Leave
Letting (léting) = Leaving
To send (tu send) = Send
Sending (sénding) = Sending
Now you will be able to form sentences or phrases like the ones
presented below. Read the following sentences aloud:
He is taking a rest.
He's taking a break.
Important note:
In the present tense, speaking of “he, she, or it,” an “s” is added to
the verb and also remember that it is a neuter pronoun meaning it,
him, or her referring specifically to “things.” Example: he takes, she
takes, it takes, etc.
For the verbs do and go, instead of adding an "s" when talking about
“he, she or it,” add "es" to the verb. Example: does and goes. The
word goes is pronounced "gós", and the word does is pronounced
"dás".
Read aloud and repeat the 15 verbs until they are familiar in your
mind. Remember that we will only give pronunciation of the words
you do not know yet; If you don't remember the pronunciation of a
word, check the previous pages.

We say You come Elios dan We go
You get to the airport on time. You arrive at the airport on time.
Note: 'Keep using ' is literally translated: keeps using, but it sounds
more practical to say: keep using.
When asking questions referring to “he, she and it” in the present
tense, DOES (das) will be used instead of DO. Always remember that
in this lesson we learned that verbs conjugated in the present tense
with “He, She and It” add an “s” or “es”. When asking questions in
English, the “s” or “es” will not be added to the verbs. For example:
She eats.
She comes.
Does she eat?
Is she coming?
He goes.
He goes.
Does he go?
Is he going?
Does he do that?
Does he do that?
So we already know how we will ask questions with “do” (dú) in the
Present Tense and when we refer to He, She and It, we will use
"does" (dás).
THE DENIAL IN THE PRESENT TENSE “DO NOT AND DOES
NOT":
To form negative phrases in the present tense we only put the words
do not " (dú nat) before the verb. And when we refer to “he, she and
¡t”, we will use “does not " (das nat).
Examples:
She takes.
She takes.
She doesn't take.
She doesn't drink.
He makes.
He does.
He does not make.
He does not.
We put.
We put.
We do not put.
We don't put.
I make.
I do.
I do not make.
I do not do.
I send
I send
Do I send?
Do I ship?
Do we go?
We are going?
Do I make?
I do?
Does he go?
Is he going?
Do you put?
Do you put?
Do I say?
I mean?
Do you keep? Do you maintain?
Does he let?
Leave the?
Do we give? Do we give?
Now we will ask questions with What, how, when, where, why, which
and who in the Present Tense and for that we will continue using DO
(dú) after these words. And as we already know DO (dú) has no
meaning when used in questions, it simply tells us that we are asking
questions in the Present Tense. Example:
QUE:
The word What (wat) means what.
HOW:
How (jáw) generally means how.
WHEN:
The word When (wén) means when.
When do you go? When are you going?
-I am going on Sunday.
-I'm leaving on Sunday
When does she eat?
When she comes?
-She comes in May.
-She comes in May.
When do you work?
When do you work?
-I work today in the afternoon.
-I work this afternoon.
WHERE:
The word Where (werr) means where.
WH^
The word Why (way) means “Why?”, and is usually answered by the
word because (bicóz) which means “because.”
Why do you go there?
Why do you go there?
-Because I work there.
-Because I work there.
WHICH:
The word Which (wích) is widely used in English and means which,
which, which, which, which, which, which. That is, for so many words
in Spanish you will only need to learn one in English to be able to ask
questions with “Which”.
QUIEN:
WHO (juu) means who, who.
Who do we help?
Who do we help?
-We can help your old friend.
-We can help your old friend.
SELF APPRAISAL
The idea of this book is: once you have learned the words, the
verbs, the grammar and how to ask questions and answers, you
apply this knowledge so that you actually learn to speak in English.
If you do not act or apply what you have learned, you will not
"Hi John. How are you? How's your new job? I am very busy at work.
I get to the office at seven in the morning and leave at around six in
the afternoon. I get an hour for lunch. In the office, I am on the
computer and the phone all day, I help my boss with a lot of work
during the day. I send a lot of emails during the day, sometimes I get
to listen to some music. I am very tired when I get home, so I just eat,
watch some television and go to bed. I work from Monday to Friday,
and on Saturday I go to the store to get some food and do my laundry.
I try to go to Church on Sunday. This next December, I am going to
visit my family and friends.
3. Create 10 questions with “DO” and also using “what, how when,
where, etc”. These 10 questions have to be questions that you use
every day of your life and they have to be created according to your
needs. Once the questions are created, you will have to answer them
in English, also according to your needs.
Note: If you had difficulties reading the short Reading, creating the
sentences, the questions and answering them, this means that you
are not ready to move on to the next lesson; Please review the entire
second lesson and focus your time on the parts where you have
difficulty. Remember that the more you repeat things, the more you
will remember them.
THIRD LESSON
Invest time in what will really change your future and no matter how
difficult something is; Be positive and move forward because today's
sacrifices will be tomorrow's fruits.
EVERYDAY WORDS
Always read aloud please. It is very important that you do this so
that you learn faster. Always carry your notebook with you, in which
all the new words that you find in each lesson of this book should be
written, so that you can continue studying and reviewing them in the
lost moments of the day. Please do this and you will see that you will
learn much faster. We remind you: “Repetition is the secret of good
memory.”
Example:
The pencil (da pénsil) = The pencil.
The apple (di apOI) = The apple.
The offer (di offer) = The offer.
The restaurants(da restoRants) = The restaurants.
USE OF “AYAN”
The word “a” and “an” in English mean one or one, the two words
have exactly the same meaning. “a” is used before a word that
begins with a consonant and “an” is used before a word that begins
with a vowel. Read aloud and repeat the following phrases several
times:
Read the following phrases aloud, when you think they are already
very familiar, repeat them again:

very familiar, repeat them again:
Please do not continue until you know how to use “this, that, these
and those” perfectly. As we already know that the secret of a good
memory is REPETITION”, we will review these words again:

nearby).
THESE (diiiis) .... These or these (indicates that several people or
several things are nearby).
THAT (dat) ....... That, that, that, that, that, that (indicates person or

That's my room.
That is my bedroom or room.
Will (wíl).... Prefixed to the verb, it converts said verb to the future
tense.
We remind you that the best way to memorize and learn a language
is through constant repetition. Read the following sentences aloud
until you are familiar with them:
I have = I have
I will have = I will have
We do = We do
We will do = We will do
He goes = He goes

happens in the Present Tense of the verbs. Repetition: Only the
letter “s” or “es” is added to the verbs when talking about “he,
she and it” in the Present Tense. You can see the highlighted
phrases above that you just learned.

As you already know, the verb “TO BE” is very special, in addition
to its two meanings in Spanish, which is: “to be or to be”. Also in the
past tense it has two writings which are: “WAS and WERE”. “WAS”
is the past tense of “IS” and “WERE” is the past tense of “ARE”.
Everything will be clearer so that you practice using this verb, as it
will be very useful when speaking English.

Important note: You will notice that when questions are asked
in the Past Tense, the verb remains in the present tense. The
word “did” is what tells us that the question is already in the
past tense and it is not necessary to place the verb in the past
tense. For example:
It is very easy to ask questions in the past tense with “did”, but you
will have to study it well until your mind has no difficulty remembering
it. Repeat the following questions and phrases as many times as
possible out loud, even if you already know them, since repetition or
practice is essential for good memorization.
The words “did not” indicate that it is spoken in the past tense, but
you have to be sure to place the verb it precedes in the present tense
and not in the past tense. For example: “I did” is said: “I made”; but “I
did not do” is said: "I did not make.”
Read and repeat the following out loud many times, so that you
become familiar with the use of “did not”:
QUE:
The word What (wat) means what.
HOW:
How (jáw) generally means how.

“one” (wan) a lot in some expressions to show greater emphasis or
importance to something, although in reality it does not have a
meaning in the sentence or phrase. For example: I like the Yellow
one , The small one is very nice. If you notice, “one” is usually used
after an adjective (yellow small, big, beautiful, etc.) or when asking
questions with which.
QUIEN:
WHO (juu) means who, who.
Who did you meet yesterday? Who did you meet yesterday?
3. Create 10 questions with “DID” and also using “what, how, when,
where, etc”. These 10 questions have to be questions that you use
every day of your life, and they have to be created according to your
needs. Once the questions are created, you will have to answer
them in English, also according to your needs.
Note: If you had difficulty reading the small Reading, creating the
sentences, the questions and answering them, that means that you
are not ready to move on to the next lesson, please review the entire
fourth lesson and focus your time on the parts that you have difficulty.
Remember that the more you repeat things, the more you will
remember them.
FIFTH LESSON
“Do difficult things so that your life is easy, because if you do easy
things your life will be difficult.” Many times we complain and do
nothing to change our situation, let's change our way of thinking and
do things, because if we don't do them today, we will never do them.
Be willing to study for an hour every day without anyone telling you.

remember the pronunciation of some words, we suggest you review
the previous pages.
For example: You have not taken a shower (You have not taken a

THE NUMBERS
You will realize that learning to count in English is very easy, since it
is the same as in the Spanish language. Please memorize the
numbers 100% and you will not have any difficulty in using them.
We will learn numbers in the most efficient way as a child is taught,
focusing on the writing and pronunciation of each number:
0 . Zero (zzíroU)
1 . One (wan)
2 . Two (you)
3 . Three (zríi)
4 . Four (four)
5 . Five (fayv)
6 . Six (siks)
7 . Seven (sevEn)
8 . Eight (eyt)
9 . Nine (nayn)
10 . Have (have)
11 . Eleven
12 . Twelve
13 .- Thirteen(zéeRtíin)
14 .- Fourteen (FooRtíin)
15 .- Fifteen (fiftiin)
16 .- Sixteen (sikstíin)
17 .- Seventeen (séventíin)
18 .- Eighteen (éytiin)
19 .- Nineteen (nayntíin)
20 .- Twenty (tuénti)
30 .- Thirty (ZzeeRi)
31 .- Thirty-one (zzeeRi -wan)
32 .- Thirty-two (zzeeRi -tuu)
41 .- Forty -one(f óoRi-wan)
49 .- Forty-nine(fooRi-nay n)
51 .- Fifty-one (fifti-wan)
61 .- Sixty-one (sixti-wan)
72 .- Seventy-two (seveny-tuu)
86 .- Eighty-six (hey ri-six)
91 .- Ninety - one (nay ri-wan)
99 .- Ninety - nine (nayri-nay n)
After having reached “ninety nine” (99), “one hundred” (100) follows.
Just as in Spanish after “one hundred" we start adding from 1 to 99
to get to Two hundred (200), then we do the same by adding from 1
to 99 and we get to Three hundred (300). Example:
Now that we know how to count from 1 to 999, what follows is “One
thousand” (1,000) which is one thousand in Spanish, from now on
we will start with 1,001 until we reach 1,999 to be able to reach “two
thousand” (2,000), and so on until you reach “One million”
(1,000,000) which is one million in Spanish. Example:
ORDINAL NUMBERS
To form ordinal numbers we will only have to add the letters “th” to
the end of the cardinal numbers. For example: six is six in Spanish,
adding “th” becomes “sixth” (sixz) which means sixth.
The exceptions would be: first, second, and third, since these are
written very differently than what this rule of adding the “th” mentions.
There will also be other numbers that will change their structure a
little, for example: Fifth (fífz) Fifth
PREPOSITIONS
In the English language, prepositions are widely used in everyday life.
So we recommend that you study these words with greater interest
and memorize them all. Remember that the more you learn, the better
you will be able to speak the English language. Keep going and never
give up, because success will be yours.
PRACTICING PREPOSITIONS:
Do everything necessary to know and memorize prepositions well,
with a little practice you will realize how important they are. The idea
is that you learn a Principle and put it into practice in order to improve.
Next we will practice the prepositions:
It is about two.
It's around two.
I will go by airplane.
I'll go by plane.
He is from Guatemala.
He is from Guatemala.
Note: These are some of the examples when joining a verb with a
preposition, keep in mind that this type of verb or vocabulary is used
a lot in the English language. So that you relate to those who speak
English or when listening on television or the internet you will become
aware of other verbs with prepositions. Keep learning and increase
your vocabulary because the more words you know, the broader your
knowledge will be in speaking this language. Never settle for what
you have learned so far: investigate, ask questions and learn
more on your own.
Did you take the dog out? Did you take the dog out?
-Yes, I did.
-Yes, I do.

CONTRACTIONS IN ENGLISH
A contraction is the shortened form of a word or combination of
words, often used when we don't want to use the full form. In these
short forms, missing letters are replaced by an apostrophe (). The
use of contractions is very frequent in English, so it is essential that
you learn to use them correctly. Memorize these contractions and
their pronunciations that appear in parentheses, since they are
widely used in the English language. The most common contractions
are:
I am not
You are not
he is not
She is not It is It isn't
not We are not We aren't
They are not They aren't
I will l'II(áyl)
You willYou'll (and you)
he will He'll (fil)
She will She'll (shíil)
It will It'll (itl)
We will We'll (wiil)
They will They'll (déyI)
Study and read aloud the sentences that follow, remember that the
pronunciations must be learned by heart when studying the
vocabularies that appear in the book, so that you will no longer find
pronunciation when practicing. If you have trouble remembering the
pronunciation of a word, review the previous lessons. By studying
these sentences or phrases you will realize your level of learning, if
it is very easy for you to read and translate this in your mind, it is
because you have dedicated 100% of your time to studying it, but if
it is a little difficult for you or a lot, it means that you are not
dedicating the necessary time, you are going too fast or you have
no desire to learn to speak English.
She isn't ready for the meeting. She is not ready for the meeting.
They weren't reading their books. They weren't reading their books.

accents well in the pronunciations that appear in parentheses.
Less Less
Least (list) ................... He less
It is necessary that you also learn these words that form their
comparatives in an irregular way.
Good ............................. Well
Better (béreR) ............... Best Best (best) The best

not literal English, because it is of no use to translate well literally and
not be understood correctly. Once you learn how to make certain
sentences or phrases, start creating at least 10 more that fit your
lifestyle, so you can use them throughout the day.
